Reading and looking at the photos on Metro’s films from the mid-1920s through 1976 you can come to only one conclusion: MGM was the premier film studio of the Golden Age with the biggest stars, both human and animal. This enormous book covers all 1700+ films from MGM with photos and reviews. There are also overviews of each year. The author, John Douglas Eames, is scrupulously fair and objective. This is a book you will look at year after year to answer any questions you might have about the fabulous MGM studio and its films.

It is one of the books needed for my collection of studios and their films. I enjoy looking at the golden era of film and seeing if I recognized the actors correctly. This is my favorite studio book

Very detailed book of photos and info about the History early MGM Film. Lots of photos and info. For Film history this is does not have a lot of text but lots of info per Year.

I have long been a movie buff and purchasing this that not only lists all MGM's movies ever released right into the early 70's but all so each movie is illustrated and what it's about that's what makes this reference so important today.

Absolutely fabulous. Purchased this book to encourage dementia patients to engage with a memory etc with the old film stars and movies. Worked fantastic. For the price it far exceeded my expectations.
