The wood was great quality & the stain goes well with my rustic/farmhouse/industrial decor. My husband would die if he knew I paid $40/linear foot for a piece of barn wood but I also didn’t have to drag him along on a 4-8 hour journey in search of something local-ish & cheaper. So this was definitely worth it for the convenience —IMO.With the $180 price tag these should also come lightly sanded just to knock off the splintered wood (we got so many splinters!)—that way they are truly ready to handle upon arrival. (We also have 150 yr old hand-carved beams in our home that are lightly sanded and it didn’t compromise any character.)The screws and anchors also suck for the price of these beams— I expected better. My one attempt at using the included screws resulted in a burning smell coming from the screw not being able to sink into the pre-drilled, new-build, **pine** stud… Pre-drilled for the included anchor as well and the screw wouldn’t ever tighten down into that anchor either. Threw all away and used better ones I keep on hand for the cheap stuff that comes from China that also **always** has subpar anchors and screws. Again, for $180, they could do better in this area too.

Beautiful reclaimed wood piece as a mantle. It’s a quality item and no one would be able to tell you bought it off Amazon lol. Came ready to go with mounting hardware required and was a prettty easy install. Love the look! Color and wood piece has good variation and grain should easily match many tones, and size is perfect!

I’m writing this review through my husband’s account. I was a little nervous ordering reclaimed wood because I didn’t know what color I was going to get and I wanted it to come fairly close to the color of my wooden vanity. When I opened the box, I was blown away. The pieces were beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Plus, the color of the wood actually matched my vanity, thanks to the model pictures on their website which I closely inspected. The pieces did come with hardware to hook it into the wall as it was stated on the website. You do have to drill holes into the wood to slide the holding rods into it in order to attach it to the wall because you don’t know where your studs are going to be in your wall. What I love about the wood is the dimples and the “wear and tear” look making it so authentic, even when it is actually authentic. Definitely going to be ordering more soon for the rustic look I’m going for in my home. Thanks

I had to write to say this is a wonderful company. The mantel was custom made for me .I have a tiny area and needed a mantel. It is perfect it came securely wrapped with instructions and anything i could possibly need to hang it.Along with a story about the wood. I can not say enough good things about this company.

Absolutely love this mantel piece from Modern Timber Craft! The fact that we have a piece of repurposed timber from Gettysburg, PA above our hearth in Southern California is very exciting - it feels like history right here in our living room!The shelf was very easy to install, simply line up and install the mounting brackets, drill the holes in your timber and install!Excellent customer service and care, would certainly recommend to anyone looking to purchase.
