Sprite SFH5-CM Falls Hand Held Shower, Chrome

I ordered a new Sprite shower head to replace our old one which was broken. First, the U shaped bracket (or collar) that held our old wand broke a few months ago I did a temporary fix on it using superglue and some aluminum tape. That held it together for a while. But when it finally gave way (on me, thankfully) the shower head hit the bottom of the tub and cracked into two pieces right at the base; unfixeable. Previously we had to replace the flex hose too; you can find some spare parts at your local big box home improvement store.The new one came quickly and was well packaged. One small comment though; the new bracket is reinforced on the inside with vertical ribs. This means the shower head wand doesn't sit completely or tightly in the bracket. It might shift around on you a bit at first but with some careful adjustment you can get it stable. The picture on Amazon shows the base of the filter housing sitting in the bracket. This is NOT how our Spite works. It's the base of the shower head wand that sits in the bracket.I agree with the other comments here: too bad it's made of cheap plastic because we love this shower wand. I'd gladly pay more for a metal one that would last longer. In the meantime, I still think this is a good wand for the money and we'll keep using it until something better comes along.

We needed something very specific for which there were plenty of $300+ options, so the fact that this one had everything we wanted for under $60 made me suspicious - but I went for it and it's a pretty remarkable product. My spouse wanted a rain shower experience, meaning water coming straight down instead of at an angle. That meant it needed height. I wanted a hand held option. And we both wanted a filter system. All three are here. BONUS POINTS for the extra long hose that won't twist and has plenty of moving around slack. Nice swivel arm, good pressure (not strong enough to sting like some people like, but definitely not weak). Yes it's plastic but it's honestly constructed just fine.Note: usually when reviewers complain that plastic construction is weak and shoddy or breaks easily, it's because they weren't careful during installation. Like a screw top on a jar, if you over-tighten you'll strip the threads or break the jar. You don't need to tighten these shower heads like you do a tire on a car. Just enough so it's tight and no more. Add some Teflon tape for good measure and you won't leak nor crack the plastic.Great product elevated to awesome for the price.

been using sprite product for years. by far and away, the best filter for dry sensitive skin. Was disappointed that this time, it did not come with the little roll of plumber tape like previous purchases did. This is all plastic and that little bit of tape make a lot of difference in maintaining the seal with the different rates of expansion between the shower and the metal spigot. I tried without it and it leaked enough to bother me with a few freezing drops every time I hopped in the shower. Went out and bought the plumber's tape on my own.

I had hoped that I could use the shower head as shown in the picture, but because of the weight of the shower head and the adjustable base, it tilts forward so far that it is not usable in this position. Unless I can find something to hold it upright, have to use it as a regular hand held shower. : Seems to work fine though and no leaks like I have had with other attachments.

We returned this shower filter. After proper installation it still leaked. The weight of the shower handle makes using it cumbersome and as others have mentioned it tends to want to lean over and not stay put. Designers should go back to the drawing board on this one. We reordered the WaterChef SF-7C. Have not received it yet to know if it will work for us.

This product is quite nice. While it's not perfect ( I live in a very hard water area) It has cut down on the water spots in my shower. What i really like is that you can reverse the filter and clean it out allowing it to last quite a while. I very much recommend this item. It has saved me a lot of scrubbing.

When I first started buying this 10 years ago, key parts were made of metal. Over the years we've had to replace it more and more frequently as more and more key components were replaced with plastic elements--and the lifespan of each one has gotten shorter. The first (mostly metal) version lasted 5 years. The second one lasted 2 years. The third one lasted 1 year and was NOISY--made a high-pitched whine every time we used it. The fourth lasted one month. And my fifth and final one lasted TWO DAYS--the pressure of the WATER coming through the showerhead blew the collar that holds the head to the hose. What a piece of garbage. Why did I keep buying it? Because I had a multipack of the filters and really liked the spray pattern and the option to remove chlorine from our shower water. But it just isn't worth it at all anymore. So sad. What a great product this used to be!

I live in an area with very poor water, lime & chlorine. I noticed a difference immediately. The shower stays cleaner, no build up or smell. The water feels like you're using a water softener. The only complaint is that the metal hose is rusting after only four months.
