A great overview and primer
Detailed and well done. A wealth on information. More text than I expected, not for children. Love their entire series. Awesome

Great book, it gives a great overview
Great book, it gives a great overview, good to read right before attending a Shakespeare play. The format works perfectly on my iPad retina, but not so well on my Kindle (this is the reason for a 4 rating instead of 5)

A Handsome and Fun Book - Perfect For Quick Reference
Even though this book may be aimed at younger readers or to introduce someone to Shakespeare, I really love this book.It may not be the deepest or most thorough examination of the plays, but it is still very useful for quick reference, especially for the more obscure plays. All the plays and major works are discussed in a very accessible format. Each chapter focuses on one play and has has a brief synopsis,it's overwhelming themes, famous lines,a list of characters, settings, and dates, plus a scene timeline of the play. The book is presented in a stylish modern graphic art design, with pictures and photos of famous performances and movies.Whether you are new to Shakespeare or longtime fan of the works, young or old, this is a useful and fun book.

Useful at all ages
I study Shakespeare with teens, and they occasionally act out scenes/plays, memorize dialog, transform Shakespeare into something they can use every day. This book is handy. It describes the action of the pats, broken out into (usually) five acts, it offers quotable lines, it shows productions of Shakespeare that range from traditional to avant- garde.Excellent.Along the way, the book has a synopsis for each play, a section on sonnets, and a Shakespeare biography.I’m pleased I bought this. It is a useful resource.

A Pretty Good Companion for Learning About Shakespeare's Plays
DK Publishers generally do a pretty good job with their books. This book provides nice overviews, plot timelines, interesting pictures, and context for each play. Though not as thorough as say the Shakespeare National Trust information, the book is a good companion to get the general feel of the play. However, it is definitely NOT a scholarly source that students should use for in-depth research papers. But it is a wonderful place to start.

(1) great sections help organiation; (2) stage settimg so interesting; and (3) great to gently introduce some of Mozartj!
A good overview of Shakespheare 's earlier works and a few more later ones . Information format is easy to understand. I found most young-ish readers became pulled in after just a few sections. Ophello & Desdemonia big hits, Iiago the dreadful sneak despised as major bad guy. I'm looking forward to using some Shakespearian word guidelines, obsolete many of them, and if the Bard cannot turn on these pre-teens.... what else can???

in the future I'm going to buy books like this in a physical form
I used this as a simple reference during a college Shakespeare course. It gave a simple overview, so when reading the original plays I stayed on track with the material. I bought it for Kindle, in the future I'm going to buy books like this in a physical form, as Kindle doesn't lend itself to such formats as well as it does to novels.

Best source to study Shakespeare's works.
This book provides precise and simplified details about Shakespeare's each and every play. Relations between characters, graphical representation of progression of the plot in different acts and scenes and brief and detailed descriptions of the major themes within a play make this book worth studying without much need of consulting any other sources.
