Vieux Carre Traditional French Wool Beret Black

This is a nice beret. It's thick and has a quality feel to it, better than the thinner, cheaper ones that are out there. One thing I do with a new beret is hand wash it in cold water with a mild soap. Then I rinse it well and let it air dry. This gets rid of the sharp crease that it gets in shipping and gives it a relaxed rounded look. I found the headband a little tight at first but I put it on my head while it was drying and it stretched out nicely and fits really well now. Overall a nice beret and worth the little extra money.

Nice quality 100% wool beret. This beret is little smaller than most - it measures about 10-1/4 to 10-1/2 inches in diameter, which is exactly what I wanted. I wear an average hat size of about 22-1/4 (7-1/8) and this beret stretched to fit just great.

Its nice quality but one size does not fit all. It is a small child size hat. My 12 year old will look cute in it.

I love classic black berets, and this fits the bill. They keep ears warm, look chic, fold up easily to fit in pockets and purses, and wash well (I use Woolite, hand wash, and dry flat, on a towel). Thinking of getting a few other colors, too.

Coming from one of the two remaining traditional beret makers, this definitely lives up to the French standard. The cap itself is quite warm and snug for the first few uses, but eventually molds to the shape of the wearer's head.

Plus I saw the same one for $6 at Tysons Corner Mall. Same brand name, everything.
