Trackpad 2 Apple Magic

Damaged Goods... But Wait!
These are seconds from Apple, where the boxes have been very slightly damaged in transit etc. You know Apple, they won’t send out anything that’s not perfect. I’ll take an imperfect box with a £40-50 discount all day every day. The box is now in the attic with the rest of them, the trackpad is on the desk and it makes zero difference. The reason I’ve dropped a star is because it was advertised as coming with a case and mine didn’t.Ordered Space Grey, got Space Grey.

This is actually really good.
So I have been using various forms of trackpad and track balls for most of my working life (I work as a SysAdmin and have done for nearly 30 years).I ended up deciding to get this trackpad because of compatibility issues I have had with other products like those from Logitech, and part of keyboard trackpad combos. This just isn't worth £100+ but it is WAY better than any other I have tried. The most noticeable feature about this that makes it such a pleasure to use is that you don't need to lift your finger in order to click, you just press down. This makes selecting, highlighting and moving things so much easier and more precise. It just about eliminates all the misses you typically get with trackpads, and balls. The feedback is fantastic too, coupled with the fact it works with just about everything I have tried so far, so just carting it about with a Bluetooth keyboard makes for a very fast setup no matter what I am sat in front.Sure I wish it was a lot cheaper, but other than the price I just can't fault it at all. It's by far the best pointing device I have ever used, and it really is leaps about bounds above any other trackpad, and I think I have tried almost all of them.I use an ultrawide monitor, and it used to be a pain in the arse to go to the options in the top left corner, but now with the size of this, and it's precession it's become a breeze. Don't bother getting the stupid priced keyboard, and just get a 1/2 decent BT keyboard, and your magic!

Bluetooth connection issues.
If the Bluetooth issues were sorted there’d be nothing to complain about. I’ve got Magic Mouse, Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2. All have connection issues connect to two different MacBook Pro’s. So I’ve sold them and bought a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse which is brilliant.

Puts the mouse to shame! Essential, great piece of kit!
The various trackpad gestures on Mac make using the apps on macOS quick, easy and very efficient and make the mouse feel like old tech. On top of that, having it priced in this low from this seller finally made it more reachable for me. I’m so glad I got it. One suggestion might be to use it with a keyboard which doesn’t have the numerical keypad. Mine has it and I struggle to find a good place for it...so next is the keyboard.

Good product, misleading picture
Picture shows the space grey version. Was sent the white version.

Excellent
So much better than a mouse for me. Does everything the trackpad on you MacBook does and is a bit bigger. Really smooth surface and the slight angle and lift on it makes it comfortable to use.

Who is Umberto Ghio?
Excellent product, though I knew I was buying a used/returned item I expected it to be reset but the trackpad’s Bluetooth ID is set to someone else’s name and I cannot change it - it can only be changed from a Mac which I do not have (purchased for iPad Pro and works great but very few devices can be renamed from iOS/iPadOS and this is not one of them!).

Absolutely amazing.
Absolutely lovely device. If you can bare the price - it’s worth it. Super ergonomic and looks amazing paired with the keyboard and other Mac products in space grey. Would highly recommend over the Magic Mouse - as I’ve had both and the functionality and gesture support with the trackpad is just far superior to the mouse.
