This fit perfectly like a glove on my Hero 7 Black. Though lightweight, it’s made of thick plastic but it appears to be quite durable. It does require removal of the charger door so that it’s easily accessible by the mic adapters cable.Not a biggie since I don’t intend on getting the device wet while I have my mic mounted on it anyway. The adapter fits snug into the perspective slot, no sliding or shifting noticed. You do need to bend the USB-C cable to get it to plug into the adapter.There’s a removable cold shoe included, which is on top of the case’s embedded cold shoe. Love this because it helps give a little extra height so as to not have my dead cat in the field of view.Sliding the cover on or off is easy, it doesn’t snag if you do it right by pressing down on the lock clamp on the left side.Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this purchase. It does exactly what I needed it do by hiding the whole adapter, dongle and cable contraption I had previously going on.Having this give is such a cleaner look. Highly recommend it.

Seems to be really nice quality and is a necessity since GoPro makes you buy their proprietary mic adapter. Using this mount on a motorcycle helmet. My only gripe is that the mic adapter slid into the mount too easily and fit a little loose. It was an easy fix by putting one loops worth of electrical tape around the body of the mic adapter making it fit nice and tight.

Mounted this and then put a light and a shotgun mic on top. Holds the GoPro mic adapter good, could be a bit more snug and not move when plugging into it or unplugging something. Sturdy material and does the job.

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice case and being able to use an external microphone brought new life to my GoPro hero 5.

I actually love everything about this case except for two things, and they're not minor things either. When you install your hero in this case, the shell of the case itself encircles the lens protrusion of the camera. So what's the big deal? First of all, you cannot put a cover on your lens when you're done shooting. You have to literally disconnect all the cables and remove the camera from the case in order to install your protective lens cover. Second of all, everyone knows that a vast majority of the heat emitted from the camera is from around the lens area. The shell of this case TRAPS that heat causing the camera to run hotter than normal (they run hot enough, no need to help them run hotter!).I hope the designers of this case will read this and make the necessary changes. Until then, I cannot recommend this case.

This is exactly what GoPro should have come up with for the silly brick you need for the external microphone. Ulanzi did themselves proud by designing a housing that incorporates the brick, makes it extremely easy to mount the GoPro and doesn't really add all that much in height. The housing is designed just right, not to tight(like the GoPro housing) and not to loose and I really like the sliding door concept, no more broken fingernails trying to unlock the standard housing. An excellent design and highly recommended.

I give this item 5 stars because I am generally happy with it HOWEVER, there are noteworthy concerns you should know about.I am using GoPro Hero 5, mic and usb adapter, and movo vx100 condenser microphone with deadcat. With this set up, I have TWO issues.1st: Field of View. the deadcat is visible when you are using the default fish eye settings. I still give this 5 star because it's no big deal for me because I am shooting using Linear and it's absolutely PERFECT. The mic is not visible in linear.2nd. Adapter. Installing the GoPro and the adapter into the case is a breeze. But connecting the adapter to the GoPro can be challenging because the case makes it hard for the adapter to reach the port easily. But again, it works perfectly.

I an so happy with this product!! I was worried about the fit of the gopro and the converter box because I didn’t want them shaking while recording and they fit perfectly snug in the case, no raddling or movement st all. Also the addition shoe mount bump up is perfect to keep the deadcat on the mic from being in the shot. This product is perfect for the gopro and keeps you from having to make some sort of crazy contraption to hold the gopro audio converter box.
