Review for '03 Ford Ranger Fitment
The strap that holds the board to the pad is about 20" too short to go around the board. The straps that connect the pad to the Ranger tailgate are about 20" longer than they need to be. I get that the straps can also fit around a full-size tailgate, but I fail to see what type of board the other strap will fit around. A snowboard? Sure, but a snowboard will normally fit inside a pickup bed. I'm hoping the excess that I cut off and sew onto the other strap will attach securely enough to keep my board secure. The price for this product was outstanding when compared to other tailgate pads on the market, but it wasn't easy getting this product; everyone seemed to be out of them. I finally got one but haven't actually used it yet for my 10'4" Surftech paddleboard, as the product needs modification. Once I get around to some sewing on it, I think it will be pretty nice. I'm just very slow at getting around to "mending" and I hope my sewing machine cooperates. The inconvenience of too short a strap is is why I give only three stars.

Great deal- a great budget tailgate pad.
I’ve had this over a year now. Super happy with it for the price. However, here’s my observations based on 1 year of use on a Nissan Frontier:Watch where the crease is- this folds in thirds and if you’re not careful installing it, your bike will rest on the area of least padding.Velcro straps are not fixed. Pro- put the bike anywhere and adjust the strap to meet it. Con- you might lose a strap, or two or three, because they’re not sewn down. I replaced 2.Drops down far enough on the tailgate. No issue with the handle flap- placement was fine. However I have an aftermarket backup camera mounted around the plate so there’s no interference with this.Cover is holding up fine. No issues on the tailgate either.A few rub marks on my down tube, but that’s the issue of proper padding placement.Works great with my mountain bikes and the beach cruisers.1 ride maybe once a week- sometimes more. I love the features of some of the more expensive pads, but for this price, I’m more than happy and not in a hurry to replace it.
