Thoughtful, poetic discourse on logic with incoherent plot
This is a serious book for serious SF fans. Each page contains new insights, but it is hard to read and the story is only there to hang the ideas on.Nova, by Delaney, is a similar but much better book (I give it a 10!). However, both books are out of print, a heresy.

A long way away from hoaky space opera.
The most fascinating thing about this novel to me is the protagonist is a horrible person. Not a mad scientist or sadistic dictator but a nasty little sleazy bore. And yet you keep reading hoping for his/her redemption which is outstanding writing.

A great and thought provoking read.
Given the current issues and controversy surrounding the fluidity of gender and sexual orientation. Triton offers an ingesting perspective on this, as well as some interesting ideas on the governance of society.

Thx god, not another crash-boom-bang-scifi-story
Wow, what a story, so comp!ex, so touching! What makes you YOU? Is it age, gender, sexual orientation or social status? Fascinating view, what future may bring and, despite written in the early 70ths it's still spot on. What, if you could change your sex and/or sexual orientation? But still you are you!
