Chillington Heavy Duty Canterbury Fork, 3 Pronged Hoe, 3.5lbs, Digging Fork, 47" / 120cm Ash Handle, Allotment

Bought this for digging into a mature garden bed that contained tree roots and after breaking the lightweight garden fork handle, this looked the best solution. Used it on first day, and struggled with the loose fit of the tines ion the handle - they swing round easily, as the handle seems too slender, and cannot be screw fixed. Tried soaking the wooden handle to no avail, and obviously the harder I pushed the tines down, the slimmer the timber got, so became self defeating.Plus, unfortunately, when I did get going with the fork, 2 of the tines actually bent which I didn't expect to happen quite so quickly and easily.Great pity as it would be a perfect design for the heavier work.

Much larger than expected but superbly effective at romoving ivy, brambles and other stubborn weeds from the root. I have used a pick mattock in the past but this tool is somewhere in between that and a fork/ spade. A good if messy digging tool for turning over ground but, only because the user then walks over the newly turned soil, I use a fork for final loosening and tidying up. Well made but moderately heavy for extended use compared to a fork but if you want to get fit then use this. Great product and I'm well satisfied.

Great quality premium tool. This tool made light work of breaking quite compacted soil on our allotment. You can feel the quality of it immediately. If the handle ever does snap, it is so simple to swap out. The head will last forever!

This is a brilliant tool for my new allotment. You can shift some serious amount of earth and weeds. With a hoe you don’t lift as you do with a fork. So your back is better protected. You don’t shear and cut up weeds you rake them out. My no 1 go to tool.

Brilliant piece of kit, you won’t be disappointed. It makes such light work of dragging out brash or digging out nettles and brambles. Also excellent for breaking up hard ground as well of course.

used it to remove thick rushes on edge of pond. could not have done it with any other tool. Fantastic. the leverage available by the design made light work of something that I struggled with using garden fork. I am sure it will also be useful in the garden.
