Protect ONE side of your duvet (or comforter) from urine, ‘soiling semi-solids’, spilled liquids and stains. No need to wash your duvet. One side of this cover is waterproof. The other side is a regular super soft 200 thread count cotton. Protect either the top of your duvet OR the bottom side – but NOT both sides. With the waterproof side on the top of your bed, the top of your duvet will be protected. With the waterproof side on the bottom side of your duvet you will protect your duvet from spills and liquids where people would sleep. This is also a decorative cover. Both the top and bottom use 100% cotton (200 thread count cotton) as the outer fabric layer (you will have soft luxurious cotton against your body at all times). The waterproof side uses 3 fabric layers laminated together. Top layer: 100% cotton 200 thread count. Middle layer: high tech waterproof/ breathable membrane. Third layer: soft durable stretch polyester backing fabric (protecting the waterproof membrane). The design lets air out, but keeps liquids away from your duvet. No ‘ballooning’ - where the duvet cover gets air inside that can’t get out. Soft and quiet. If you use the waterproof layer on top of your bed you will not even notice the waterproof layer (it’s like sleeping with non waterproof cotton sheets). If you use the waterproof layer on the bottom of your duvet some people find this cover to be hot. The cover is breathable, but not the level of breathability to allow the large amount of moisture we produce when sleeping to escape. The result is it could feel hot when sleeping. (You can have it waterproof, or cooler to sleep under – but, not both). Four ties secure the duvet from shifting. High quality YKK zipper closure. Durable to withstand frequent washings. Machine wash in cold water using a mild laundry detergent. Machine tumble dry on a cool setting. Full/Queen is 94” x 86”. King is 109” x 90”.

A godsend!
I have an elderly cat that just loves to vomit on my bed when I am not home, and this has saved me so many headaches! Only one side is waterproof which I like, since the side I sleep under is cotton so still breathable. I think if both sides were waterproof I would be a sweaty mess. It has already gone through a couple washes an it hold up well! It got a little stained but who knows how long he mess was sitting there, I usually find out when I come home from work unfortunately. Also, I use this over my duvet insert but under my actual duvet so it's a bit cuter. Highly recommend!

Solid Construction but Impossible to Fully Clean
For the price, the construction is what I would expect, strong, waterproof and able to weather pets. That said when the expected happened and the pets soiled the cover it was incredibly difficult to get any of those stains out and to fully clean out the scent when following the cleaning instructions. I purchased this at twice the price of non-duvet covers thinking it would feel like it was worth being a permanent fixture to the bed, but due to the tarp-like top material it was something we would take off and put on each time we wanted a pet on the bed, defeating the need for it to be a duvet cover. We have since purchased another bed cover that has a more premium look at half the price.

Not Waterproof!
I purchased this duvet cover to protect my down duvet from liquids. However, this item does not work as described. My small pet cat had an accident that went through the "This Side Waterproof" side of the duvet cover and soaked my comforter. I even paid more money to get a nice cover like this one. But you can see in the picture that the urine soaked through to the other side

This product is HEAVY, does make NOISE, and difficult to put on duvet. Wish I could return.
