Lift the Flap Periodic Table

Go for it !!!

My seven year old loves this book. It has little bits of interesting information written in an engaging and understandable way. My son will lift the flap of that which he wants to know more about so all the information is not laid out already but excepts children to go looking for it. That is such a clever hook! I've only often seen lift the flap books for babies but this is perfect for something as "complex" as the periodic table.That was about the format.Now for the content! That too is really well put together. The kinds of information has been so well chosen. For example of all he 118 elements, the ones that are solid have a particular shape (square body with legs and arms), the liquids have a watery bottom and the gasses look gassey! Such a useful key that will give us so much information right through the book. Nothing is really dumbed down for children, but just given in small and funny doses!I will definitely buy this book again to gift it to other children I know. Amazing book. I had ordered the book for my collection as I like chemistry and found this book interesting. My kid who is in 2nd class started reading it and knows the basics. The basics which are taught in higher classes. The book makes it so simple. Now he has claimed the book for himself and loves it. A very fun way of teaching basic concept of periodic table. A must have.

When I first ordered this, I thought it would (understandably) be a bit superficial and simplistic. To my pleasant surprise I found that the authors, editors, illustrators etc have put in a great deal of thought and attention to this. I am 44 years old - I bought this for my kid and am hooked myself. Fantastic and more than one's bang for the buck.

It is a simplified way of presenting period table - the basic elements present in nature from which the rest is created.I wish I had this when I was studying.

I got this for my son for Christmas and he loves it and takes with him everywhere.He’s loves science so this was perfect for him and easy way to learn . Brilliant book deffo recommend

It is of excellent quality, including lots of interesting and humorous facts about the elements of the periodic table, hidden under various flaps. The elements are displayed as characters with squared bodies, identified with their names, and coloured according to their placement in the table. While also appealing to a much older audience, my 5-year old granddaughter, for whom it was purchased, enjoys the book immensely.

My 7 year old son has developed an interest in all things science, we of course are delighted. Now the challenge is to keep him interested and engaged.He heard about periodic table from a YouTube science channel, and asked to learn more about it. Knowing my son, and recalling how incredibly dull the lessons regarding periodic table was, I search the web for something more interesting.This is it!It’s a fun and engaging book, he loves it the moment we handed it to him.It’s a great and clever book, I mean had I had this book when I was in school, I might not hate chemistry as much. It’s really making the boring old periodic table fun with all the fun facts, color coding, shapes, and obviously the flaps.Now my 7 year old is dishing out facts about protons electrons and what’s the lightest elements, etc etcThat’s a pretty awesome feeling.There should be more of this sort of books.

Ce livre est un vrai bijou. Je le recommande pour tous et à tout âge. Mon fils de 8 ans et moi 38 ans nous nous y intéressons. Il est coloré ludique, pleins de petites fenêtres d'informations sympathiques. Vraiment bravo aux éditions Usborne que nous adorons. Nous avons déjà le livre sur l'espace et celui sur les tables de multiplications.
