Read this before you have to go to the doctors like I did.
At first I thought these were going to be great. Too good to be $15. They lack the treble that my $40 ear-asers provide but the midrange and lows are good for these filters. However, after about a month they started to wear out. It also turns out that the manufacturer uses a minimal amount of cheap glue to hold the rubber part that is inserted into the ear onto the body of the filter. That glue wore out and caused the rubber part to separate leaving it in my ear. I tried using tweezers to get it out except I couldn't see into my ear to look at what to grab which caused it to be pushed back further. Instead of risking possible damage shoving metal further into my ear I chose to let the doctor get it out. It's kind of funny how I bought these to prevent damage to my hearing/ears.Anyway, I think these need a redesign on how they connect the rubber bit to the plastic body containing the filter.

A definite NO!
As a volleyball parent, we spend hours in noisy gyms and some days it is deafening. These earplugs are perfect in blocking most of the yelling and referee whistles while still allowing you to hear people talking to you. I'm counting on these to protect my hearing and just wish I'd gotten them sooner. I was watching the price at around $25, but then the pink color dropped to $15 and I jumped on it.UPDATE: The first two tournaments I wore these to were fine, but at the 3rd, I went to put them back in my ears after removing them briefly and the round earpiece had broken off in my ear. Fortunately, I was able to remove it, but they are basically broken. Unfortunately, I am a few weeks late for the one month return policy. I checked some other 1- and 2-star reviews and noticed others have had the same issue. Why hasn't the seller fixed them? Don't waste your money until they do.

NOT for concerts!
I tested these at a concert last night, and while they did minimally reduce the overall volume, they weren't enough to help prevent the discomfort and post-concert ear ringing frustration. First, these are so very small. I have normal, adult ears and these are not large enough to fit snugly. The only way they plugged enough of the volume to keep my ears comfortably protected was to actually press down on them in my ears. It's possible they might work if different, larger sizes were available. These might work well for an airplane or office to dull down loud noises, but they are not for concerts or loud music type situations. My foam Hearos do much better at blocking out sound and keeping me comfortable, although I was hoping for something that wouldn't sacrifice the sound quality.

Another pair with glue failure
I used a pair of these regularly for about a week, keeping them stored in their case between uses, and then I misplaced the case itself in a drawer in my utility room. I had liked them, so I ordered a second pair, which I wore for about a month without incident. Then I found the first pair that I'd misplaced, and I started using them again.Within a couple of days, the glue failed on one where the rubber pad/seal is attached to the body of the ear plug itself. So, I ended up with that thin, rubber sleeve jammed up inside of my ear. I probably should have gone to the doctor, but I had a family member look to see if it was safe/possible to fish the darned thing out of my ear with a pair of tweezers.Luckily, I didn't end up needing to go to the doctor, but my family member barely could reach the rubber sleeve safely, so it was close. From reading other reviews here, this doesn't seem to be an isolated problem, so I'm not wearing my second pair now either. Yay. More money wasted on cheaply made junk.

DUBS Helps for Hypersensitive Hearing
Purchased for my son who has hypersensitive hearing. Fingers rubbing on a piece of paper, erasers being used, cloth fabric moving, a marker touching paper, are some sounds that hurt him. He reports that these DUBS are helping to reduce those sounds, but do not block them out. What sounded and felt like 30 nails scratching on a chalkboard now sounds and feels like 4. The DUBS are soft but a little big for his ears to stay in too long without starting to bother the inside. He only wears them in the classroom, while doing homework, or if we are at a loud place. Otherwise, I am thankful that his school band aid teacher recommended these and I would do the same for anyone who needs to block out sounds but still wants to be able to hear. I am going to order an extra pair for backup because without these, my son would suffer in school and in loud places.

To my fellow festival goers and club rats.
As someone who has purchased several of these DUBS and frequents loud music venues such as music festivals and nightclubs, I can say that this product works. The attenuation (=lowering the volume) provides good range where the bass still sounds and feels sufficiently bass-ey without you suffering hearing damage; the mids sound a bit watered down. HOWEVER, 'as someone who has purchased several of these DUBS' (over a period of ~1.5 years), let me tell you: the rubber tip will fall off of the ear piece. There exists a manufacturing defect regarding adhesion of the rubber tip and the ear piece. I was at a club one night when I suddenly realized the music began to sound differently in one ear -- must've been lit, right? Nope. The ear piece had fallen off with the rubber tip still stuck in my ear. Imagine trying to extract a pea-sized earbud tip designed specifically to stay exactly there -- all while humans seem to be tribal dancing around you in a room that is now suddenly spinning. Such a sobering moment.I keep coming back for more because, well quite frankly, you can't beat the price for what it offers. What you will get is a product that protects your ears without looking like you just stepped into a club with pocket protectors on. Both sexes have approached me asking what was in my ear, although only one seemed genuinely interested in the product. Stylish, affordable, I'd recommend.
