A very good alternative to the Roku remote !
The media could not be loaded. Lets begin by looking at what we get in the box.we get 3 items - the remote holder ( for those who bought the one with it), the actual remote ( batteries not included) and a small users instruction manual. The remote holder has an adhesive back, that you could possibly stick to a wall or a shelf. Now lets look at the remote. Its very similar in size to the Roku voice remote. So if you are familiar with that, you know how handy that size is. On the side you will see 3 buttons, 2 for the volumne up and down which the roku remote also has and surprisingly a mute botton as well which is not in a roku remote. As for the shape, I would say the roku remote has a more rounded structure while this one is more flat to the front. Definitely, Not a deal breaker. One additional thing to notice is that there is tiny led toward the top of the remote that lights up every time a button is pressed. This is a nice feature to know if the remote is sending out signals for all those times you feel the battery might be dead. And as for the buttons, they have a nice clicky feel that I personally like but they do tend to be bit loud , unlike the roku remote.I have the Roku premier ( previous generation), a Vizio tv and a klipsch soundbar. Most of the buttons on this remote came pre-programmed right from the power, volume buttons, mute button and the roku functions including the named shortcuts for Amazon, netflix and hulu. Dint have to do a thing. these again might not work for certain products and thats where the learning function comes in.The "learning" feature is easy to use and would probably take about 5 minutes to set up. To enter the learning mode, press and hold the buttons A & B for about 3 seconds until you see the LED indicator flashing. then press the key you want to learn and the indicator would flash much slower. Now you have to point the original remote on here and press and hold the key from that remote until the led flashes 3 times on the universal remote and stays constant. After this just press A and OK together and the learning is complete. you can repeat this process to learn the other keys. With that you are done and you have yourself and a simple universal remote.Verdict : Get it.

Not working...
I had high hopes for this remote. It was a very simple layout that was supposed to support my Roku out of the box AND learn to control my TV. Unfortunately, it did not work when I received it.Out of the box, the preprogrammed Roku keys did not work with any of my Rokus and the red LED would only light when I hit the power key. I tried to enter programming mode by simultaneously pressing the "A" + "B" keys, but the LED did not light as indicated. I retried this process with several sets of new batteries (no batteries came in the package), but it was no good. The instructions state, "If the issue still exists, please contact us via your buyer account email box and we will have it replaced at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU !". Unfortunately, there is no email address I can find in the instructions or online to contact the manufacturer.

Nice remote.
This is my first purchase of this brand of Roku remotes. Roku streamers are the absolute best. I just wish their high-end remotes had a source button. However, this remote will get that part done, at an economical price. The learning feature is easy to use and simply works. You can buy this product with confidence.

Solid, but still a few flaws.
A few things.1. Solid remote that requires line of sight.2. Doesn't work with with some brands (definitive technology w studio sound bar)3. Doesn't let you reprogram the Netflix, hulu, etc buttons even though very few of us have all the services. They should open those up for additional programmable features

Works!
Works great, controlled my Roku TV perfectly. Instructions were easy to program the other features from my TV remote, on/off, volume, etc.

Worked properly, but poor IR signal direction.
I liked this remote, and t worked with my Roku Ultra and LG TV's power and volume functions right out of the box. I was also able to program a couple of the buttons from my original TV remote, like "Source".. The only reason I ended up returning it was that the IR signal was very directional. If it wasn't pointed directly at the Roku, the signal was not received. I tried a different third-party IR-only remote with my Roku that could be pointed almost anywhere and it still worked, but that one had many defective buttons that just didn't work reliably. I'm still giving this remove 3 stars because when I was careful about pointing it directly at the Roku, it did work. It just didn't have enough leeway to allow it be used reliably when lying on the couch vs sitting up, etc. The direction and angle of the remote made its usage tedious and unreliable.

Fragile
Worked great until the volume button broke within a week or two, deeming it useless for its intent. Ordered a replacement, i'll give it 3 stars assuming they exchange it. Maybe the cat case protects it.
