Brightwatts - Ultimate Gable Fan with 25w Solar Panel

I've had my fan in the attic for over a month, now, and it works reliably. It hasn't cooled the attic as I would have hoped, but I think that is a matter of too small a fan for too large an area. We live in Florida, so it gets hot. My home is 1400 sq ft., plus garage. The combined space, I believe, is too much for the fan to handle on its own. I plan to buy a second one of these for the other gable. That should make a dent in the heat up there.But, the fan is well built, as are the solar panels. The second solar panel actually comes separately, the first is boxed up with the fan.It was more work than I had expected to get it installed. It probably took me about 8 hours to do all I had to to get it installed.I really didn't want any roof leaks, so I screwed it in to the roof as you'd expect, then I cut up strips of extra shingles I had left over from the roof job and slid one end of the shingle under the the shingle just above my screw, then laid my strip of shingle over my screw hole. I gouped it up with roof sealant really well around the screw and all under the slip of shingle. So, now, even if it would have leaked around my screw, it will at least still be covered by a shingle.
