Very Classy: Even More Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady

Derek Blasberg has class
Obviously. This book was a really good read. I think Blasberg has his head in the right place for the young woman's disposition. It's humorous, to-the-point, but also endearing, like reading a letter written to you by a good friend. Would recommend as a gift for women in their 20's, or even as a book to buy for your own.

GREAT
I also own his first book, Classy :)This is an expanded edition of that, and I love Blasberg's witty essays that point out the many things that are wrong with females these days. Finally, someone understands that sweats at the airport or anywhere else is trashy, and the importance of making your own style and not feeding into what he calls "trampy". This new edition has chapters about decorating and health. The only thing I really found a problem with was when he included a quote from Kate Moss, "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." That quote is frequently used on Thinspiration blogs; go ahead and look it up... anyway. This is a book that is meant to point out what is wrong with society and how we prize trashiness. And how to be a lady of modern times. Very valuable advice. Also, meant to be humorous and witty. It is not by all means a serious book and I get the feeling that some audiences take it that way. It'll change your life!

Very dumb book
This book made me feel dumber for having read it. Author name drops and fills the book with pictures of himself with celebrities. It’s written like a glamor magazine for an audience of 19 year olds. It’s frilly, ostentatious and a complete waste time.

Inspiring reading for making the transition into modern era manner for ladies
Though in many chapters the groupings and the topics discussed are very simple and predictable, and the audiences of the book are probably teens, this book does offer inspiring references to what a modern lady should know... It's got sophisticated taste in literature, film, fashion... And good to know real examples from the authors friendship with real world fashion big shots. Fun book!

Just ok
This book is great for a drunk, bar-hopping lady of low character and morale, but does not offer much for someone who has past that stage and is simply trying to class it up. The book says it's not rude to be late which it completely is. The book has many typos and without the author's celebrity name dropping would be a short read. If you find yourself under a table or a stranger frequently, read the book. If you are looking for a book to bring more polish to your life and reflect a better upbringing than you experienced, keep looking.

How-to-Guide
Derek Blasberg's "Very Classy" gets my vote!If don't know your water glasses from your wine, or you believe menstrual cycles are appropriate cocktail conversation then read on. I'll admit, I always wondered why wasn't there a how-to book given at birth to girls and boys with their jabs. Socializing is an art, dressing the part, behaving with dignity, communicating with grace, being well groomed, allowing to project your own style and behaving well are taken for granted. Derek Blasberg has taken his Hollywood, fashion and culture knowledge and cramed it in neat little package called ''Classy''. This is a now-to guide when your girlfriends aren't availible and mothers rules of etiquette wouldn't be well received in modern day world. (nobody kisses girl's hands anymore, and nobody objects to you wearing dark eyeshadow at 20).Now, of course, Derek being De-rek ( and I followed his career for a long time now) would include countless list of his celeb friends as supporting pillars of society and to model those who aren't. This works well to project his views to the best qualified, dignified and personified ways possible. I don't object to good marketing standards or open ambition. I don't sing empty praises, either. This little black book should be a compulsory read starting at 15 (and hidden among other books for later on in life, as a little reminder). Not much to be learned there some may say, but then again, was common sense ever guaranteed later in life? The best part of the book is the blunt, easy-to-use and well structured how-to approach to life. Think of it as small, tiny reminder of manners and good sense. This shows how to serve life with a panache and win socially.

There are many recommedation about this " great book of style all the time"( let them say) ...
I found this book while I read a magazine ( In stlye USA), There are many recommedation about this " great book of style all the time"( let them say)Unfortunatly this book is not for the those who look fotr the styling guide( this" classy: mean here is lifestyle not fashion style) more like but certainly give some ideas about how to manage a life without look messy. But still the style suggest by this book is too posh in my taste which generally very high standard(let say how many time we are invited black tie party with ball gown? or how many of us having a dress call "almost bare, not totally naked?")If you looking for the classic life style guide book this book is for you but if you lookig for a book about classic style, please try others

one of the best books i have read
one of the best books i have read. it is unbelievable how many mistakes women do on their everyday behaviour. if a woman wants to improve her appearance and behaviour, it is a very good read. if you believe you are perfect and do not want to change anything with yourself, do not buy it as you will not follow any of the advice anyway.

A repeat performance
This book is practically a word for word repeat of the first one, with only a few new points made in it. It was a total waste of money and time (reading).
