Premise is decent, execution needs work
There's a conflicted, emotional story here but it suffers under a very stagnant feeling main character perspective and secondary characters who feel too one dimensional to be of any help. The main love interest is more often snide and confrontational with every little thing and the secondary one is very passive and underdeveloped. The main antagonist is really the only real character to feel like she has some effort behind her, and she herself is fixated on the protagonist a bit too much and is even then too vague about her motivations.I still liked enough of it to want to know more, but I'm hoping for better.

A different harem story
I did enjoy this book. A Urban Fantasy with mature themes. While it lays the foundation for a harem it is much slower than most other harem stories. While in most other harem stories the protagonist would have 2-3 ladies by the end of the first book, here not so much. While the main love interest has big problems with what the protagonist has become she can't really just kill him so we get to follow here internal conflict. While irritating to some extent its rather more realistic than most as she doesn't just throw her upbringing and training to the ground and jumps in the protagonists arms. The protagonist is struggling with what he has become but doesn't just lay down and cry about it. He realizes the pros and cons and tries to use the pros for good while controlling the cons to the best of his abilities.I say: If you want something other than the standard harem where the ladies just sees the protagonist and falls in deep love and throws everything aside to be with him, this is something you should like.

Decent story, pointless drama
Decent story, but had too much artificial drama injected just for furthering pointless drama. As I read, the immersion of the story and my ability to suspend disbelief kept getting shattered by the exceptionally stupid choices of the main characters. I had to struggle to finish the book.

I hate Katie
I really enjoyed the story and would have liked it much more if only the main heroine Katie had been had died horribly in a dumpster fire so she could become a source or rage and resolve for the mc instead of being a neverending sorce of annoyance.

Not bad
That was pretty good. I thought it was a little weird that neither Peter or Katie mentioned the fight behind the majors mansion after it happened. But it was a lot better than a lot of these types of books on amazon.

Outstanding and highly entertaining
I love the characters and the story is really entertaining, pretty much nonstop action from start to finish. I love the characters and the way they evolve.

Hardcore
A different type of story than I usually read.. interesting enough although a bit juvenile for me. I am more Sufi than fantasy. The book was well written and good for light reading.
