This is a great kit
Worked like a charm on pulled pork. the gloves do a great job of protecting your hands also. I don't even use fabric oven gloves anymore.

My son does the smoking, so here's HIS review
Bought this set for my son, who'll do the review:1. Great set. I have large palms and thick fingers; the gloves are somewhat snug, but larger than I expected (I can't fit into most OSFA gloves at all) and quite workable for me. The claws are AWESOME and (whether you do pork shoulders in an oven or outdoors) they are a must for that wonderful but big piece of meat. The brush strikes me as a good brush: by that, the bristles are synthetic (some -cone) and very firm; you will get a great thin coat, but if you want anything thicker than that or want the sauce to build, wrong way to sauce. It's very heat resistant.2. There have been some comments about how heat-resistant these gloves are. Best way to think of this is as a smoker's kit, not a griller's kit; if you are cooking some meat for 10-30 minutes in your backyard, these gloves won't do anything! Nor will anything other than welder's or firefighter's gloves, for that matter. If you're cooking via slow heat (again, indoor or outdoor) at, say 275 or below: NOW you're talking. This is a great set to get that big pork shoulder out of your backyard smoker (if you're lucky), grill/smoker, or oven.3. Can only repeat the advice other smart reviewers have given: put some powder inside the gloves to help you get them off. It's not just that the grease makes the gloves slick and impossible to grab, the heat of the work you're doing combined with gloves that don't breathe mean these things get clammy and stick to your hands with some pretty intense suction. And remember not to take them off until you're finished with them, because you'll need to let them dry completely before they're usable again.4. Promised recipe books arrived rather promptly via the email address on the Amazon account. It's addressed as coming from Grace Kitchenwares, but -- confusing?? -- my Orders list has the Sold By merchant as J4U Enterprises (which they noted only in the return address of the email). The recipes are a .pdf file. Haven't tried them, don't know whether to applaud not wasting paper or criticize a really cheap "extra" that doesn't seem to live up to the description on the product page.To summarize: Smokers, need good gloves? These are the real thing. If you cook pork shoulders (butts, in some parts of the country), indoors or out, and need to shred: YOU MUST HAVE THESE CLAWS. Everything else in this set, nice, but meh. These two items, along with the extra goodies, for $17? There's my five stars!

Great gloves.
These gloves are great for barbecuing or smoking. My husband using them all the time. We like them so much that I bought my father in law the same set. They are also very easy to clean.

Worth every penny.
PRO'S:- My husband loves Tennessee, so he loves the bright orange (haha).- The brush and BBQ combs were a definite surprise and a good one! They both come in very handy, even when we're not grilling.- The gloves are super sturdy! Non-slip and even I can use them comfortably with small hands.- Nothing has melted!! (yet) and we use these products A LOT! We have definitely gotten our money back from them.CON'S:- The gloves aren't as heat-resistant as I thought they would be. Although no one has gotten burned and I'm positive the gloves WILL prevent burns from happening, you can definitely still feel heat through them while tearing freshly cooked BBQ apart that has just been removed from the grill/smoker.- The gloves only go to right above the wrist. So, BE CAREFUL when reaching towards the back of a larger grill or smoker. Unless you don't mind losing arm hair. In that case, you're good.OVERALL:My husband and I are absolutely pleased with this purchase! We have both used different styles and brands of grilling gloves and I am most comfortable with this pair. I can use them too without my hands swimming in them and my husband can also use them and his hands are twice the size of mine. We BBQ competitively and will will buying a couple more pairs for our BBQ team.

Poor grip
These gloves are fine for grabbing hot items and moving things, but I don't recommend holding hot items for more than 10-15 seconds as heat will pass through. They are easy to clean. Just wear them and wash as though you are washing your hands. In a sink filled with soapy water works well.Very unhappy about gripping pretty much anything if they get covered with cooking grease. This past weekend I grabbed a rack of ribs off the smoker and put them in a foil tray. After that I couldn't grip ANYTHING. I picked up a bottle of BBQ sauce and it squirted out of my glove. I had my wife apply the sauce while I tried to spread with a brush. It was impossible to hold the brush.Because these gloves are slippery when greasy, I cannot recommend them.If you don't need to grab meat, these should probably be OK for you.

I really like the quality and functionality of these gloves
I purchased these to use mainly when grilling/smoking on my Traeger. I do a lot of grilling, smoking and BBQing. I have tried a lot of different products in the past. I really like the quality and functionality of these gloves! They work great removing hot meat from the grill. They are also great to keep on while you sliced something hot like a tri-tip or brisket, both of which I cook. They are also good for flipping 1/2 chickens on an open pit and quartering them. I can't say enough about the gloves, they are well worth the investment. The brush is a great brush for basting or saucing up meat/ribs before, during or after meat comes off grill. It's easy to clean as it comes apart too. I am yet to use the claws, but they are well made and very sturdy. I am sure they will round out a great purchase. The seller is very responsive and sent an email to make sure the products arrived promptly and asked about customer satisfaction. That is what makes for a 5 star experience.
