Great but be careful!
This diabolo is awesome!pros: ball bearings AND solid axle AMAZING!!!Cons: rubber cups are a little too weak my mate used it on concrete and it got pretty scraped up but this only effected the cosmeticsi have managed to(twice) crack the nuts that hold it all together the first time i contacted amazon (they were amazingly helpful) and they refunded it so i thought ok then what can superglue do for me aparntly not alot tho as with the superglue it cracked in the same place as before only worse i am yet to attempt to use some two part epoxy but i am sure that will hold itSo overall Yes if your Son/daughter/mental asaylum pateint wants one BUY IT! only if thy have a long attention span though as otherwise they could get sick of it fast and there are others on amazon that you could get for them for alot cheaperso the verdict: use it but DO NOT overtighten! And also only use it on grass or wood or carpet floors as otherwise the cups will be scratched! they are however very cheap so not losing much by replacing them

Poor design - don't buy
You may be thinking that you're not sure if you want a fixed axle or a 1-way bearing. This LOOKS like a nice option. The price point seems good. Unfortunately, this item is so poorly designed, you'll almost certainly be disappointed. On initial use (in bearing mode), the bearing makes a loud rattle/grind/screech type noise. The bearing was loud enough that I would have put it in fixed axle mode just to avoid the noise! Tried a touch of silicone grease - didn't help. This diabolo converts from a 1-way bearing to a fixed axle by using plastic tightening knobs on either side. Instructions warn not to over-tighten the knobs. I tried to disassemble, per the instructions. One knob was overtightened from the factory to the point that I could not loosen it without risk of breaking the plastic knob. (So I left it in bearing mode and reassembled.)My son (who has used a friend's diabolo, and already knows some basic tricks) played with it for a few minutes until it dropped. (If you're not familiar with one of these, you WILL drop it from time to time.) The cups are made of a semi-flexible hard rubber material, however the critical point where the cups are joined to the axle is made of several hard, brittle, plastic washers/rings. The plastic ring snapped on the side where the knob was over-tightened.Even a simple design decision was bad... When using a 1-way bearing, it's helpful to have a visual indication of the bearing direction. Look at pictures of any other diabolo with a bearing and you will see that there is a different color ring on one side. With this diabolo, there is 1 tiny arrow marked in the black ring (black on black). It's practically invisible unless you put the thing to your nose and then rotate it.At this price point, it looks like you can buy a pretty good fixed axle diabolo. If you want a bearing, you'll need to pay more. Don't be fooled into thinking you can get both with this product. I'm returning this to Amazon and will purchase something different.

For an advanced juggler.
My son uses it every day. He watches you Tube often and learns new tricks. This Diabolo needs to be tighten after a prolong use, we didn't do it in the beginning and all the parts came loose, but that wasn't a big deal at all. If this one falls a part which I doubt will happen any time soon, I will purchase another one of the same. Fantastic product if you know what you are doing at a great price.

Great fun, wonderful toy
For a simple toy this is the best. No lights or sirens but its great for hand eye coordination and is something that you just can't put down. The first few times you try it its frustrating but after those initial drops its such a great feeling of "I DID IT!!!" As you get better at it you learn all the tricks. Its absolutely amazing. Please try it, I know you will love it.

This diabolo does not delight me. I teach a lot of people to juggle (I'm TheJugglerMan) and it wasn't particularly easy for beginners to get started. It may be that the dual purpose design (allowing both fixed axle and one-way bearing) caused compromises that make it not very good for either. After a couple months of (admittedly hard) use by beginners, the axle broke, so I had to discard it. Look up my other reviews for my preferred diabolo.

This is spinabolo not a diabolo!
My 8yr old son awaited anxiously for the arrival of this diabolo. He was taught how to use one in a juggling class and was eager to play with his own but when we received it, we discovered it is a different type of diabolo which is more difficult to use and some of the common tricks cannot be done with a spinabolo. On a spinablo, one of the cones has to face the user or else it won't work properly. The instructions are incorrect as well. The other disappointment is that the clasps that hold the two cones together loosen while he's spinning them and have to be continually secured. Lastly, the string is too long for a child and has to be adjusted for the right size but unless you cut the string, there is no way to fasten it so that he can lengthen it as needed which is annoying. We made a bunch of knots and have to scotch tape it to the handles. With all this said, he's still enjoying playing with this so we're not going to return it but he was very disappointed to receive something that wasn't what he intended to order.
