Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn - Red 5607

I just received this yarn in Purple Hyacinth and it’s beautiful and quite soft. Product picture shows a warm purple/royal purple but in reality it’s more of a cold blue purple. I attached a picture for reference. Also, something that’s missing from description is that this is 4-ply fingering sock yarn which is exactly what I was looking for but bought it on a gamble hoping it would be what I needed.

Received my order very quickly. i bought the color steel and in the picture it looked quite a bit of a different shade. However i bought a luscious purple that it will look lovely together.Very nice yarns

Five stars for a wonderful range of solid colors! I have used this yarn for lots of socks, hats, and cowls - it's easy to use and, when using the Heritage Prints, often one of the colors is easily matched. It's very useful for accents. The price is more than reasonable at $12.50 for 437 yards of fingering/sock yarn. I do find it will "split" if I have to do repeats but most yarns will do that. The Sapphire Shade is stunning. While it's better to actually see yarn shades in person to match or blend with another yarn, I have had good luck with the Heritage Sock.

This sock yarn is a delight in all aspects. It knits up beautifully, is has a very soft hand, it's low-pilling, the color is rich. It makes my son's favorite socks.

I bought this to make a hat for my sister, the idea being for it to look like braided hair (long story). It was super soft, warm and strong. I didn't find any knots or breaks in the yarn and it was uniform through the whole skein. The only thing I would caution about is that it is definitely a LIGHT sport weight. My "braids" didn't quite work out because the stitch I chose needed a fuller look. That's not a defect, I would still love to use the yarn again in a different project, just be aware of it when choosing your pattern.

I love the Cascade Heritage yarns. First time I've used a solid color (I've always used the prints in this yarn). I wanted the lace pattern in the sock to pop and it sure does. (I'd never done that type of pattern before). The yarn is wonderful to use. Feels good. Isn't too slippery nor too tacky. I was disappointed to find one knot (join) in the yarn but it turned out to occur in a place where it didn't matter nor irritate the foot. Absolutely great yarn!
