This is a well made knife that comes sharp, stays sharp and is easy to sharpen. Be aware, though, that while the handle has a good shape to it, it is thinner than most and would probably work best for people with small hands. Also, the color of the handle on mine is not the green shown in the picture, but a more standard dark mahogany brown. Unfortunately,after a couple of weeks, the handle started to rattle and you can feel the haft moving around inside of it. I haven't dropped it and there isn't a scratch on it so I'm going to try and return it.

great all purpose knife for prep in the kitchen. Don't waste your money on a big redundant knife block. This knife, paired with a chef's knife and a bread knife will pretty much handle all jobs.

Arrived as advertised. Excellent knife to complete my set, which as I understand are no longer being made. Would recommend to anyone of differing abilities in the kitchen. These are knives that if maintained properly will last a life time. I intend to pass them onto my son when he is old enough.

Brilliant sharp knife

A truly beautiful knife, in both the finish of the blade and handle. The Damascus layers are clearly visible, and the blade is very sharp and stiff. The knife has the weight that tells you you're holding a high quality blade. Even the box is impressive, made of bamboo wood with a profiled foam lining (think professional camera case). The use of high quality Japanese steel (even though it's stainless, it's still really hard and retains an edge) is a great touch in keeping with this style of knife. A fine example of Sheffield knife craftsmanship.
