For me, a disappointment
This entry in the series IMHO jumped the shark a bit. The MCs obliviousness and bad decision making is beyond epic. In his inability to think prior to acting, he causes a (super)natural disaster, consigns a living being to oblivion for not being 'convenient', and essential makes a dumpster fire out of his life. This MC is characterized by bad decisions, bad habits, and a suspicious, untrusting attitude. This book took those all to 11.

Great Book in an Excellent Series
The author did not disappoint in this book or the series. This is the fourth book involving a vampire that has a conscience and, and the people and town he loves. The women are really sexy, and every chapter brings new challenges, and more heartache. I am await the next chapter in the series, and hope for more to come.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Whoops. Distracted
Great book. Great series. Well written. Well edited. Read it. (I am pretty bad at writing reviews; the whole series is seriously good).

Another great book of the series ...love the facts of the main character past ...and going in to another direction of folklore involving demons and water nymphs

Good book, character need
The write makes the main character slow. The miss things that are right infrom of their face. The pace is good

A bit stagnant
This one didn't feel as engaged as the subsequent books and the writing and dialogue feels a little stinted. A story is told and it is told clearly, but certain words, phrases, and structural choices make things feel recycled, so to speak. The story also felt split; actually, 70-30. 70% of the story centered around the Island and the water nymph, and the other 30% was a contribution to the running plot of the whole series thus far. The last quarter was done well, but it earlier portion just felt a little dry. Still, I'll be sure to see what happens with the nest book.

Stunned. Just, stunned.
Didn't think after Emerald Keep I could still be shocked by this story.I have such a love/hate for this... I hate that I love it, this must be what people who watch soaps feel like, nothing goes as I think it ought to... and still I crave more.
