Violin Bow
The violin bow looks good. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a replacement bow since I'm a beginner on violin. This will suffice for a while. The packaging should have been better. It was delivered in a huge box with an 18 lb bag of dog-food. The bow could have easily been damaged but thankfully it wasn't. This item should be packaged in a stand-along BOX and delivered separately. Shame on Amazon.

only for beginner
The most important thing is that this bow can not work on my violin. I tried to use it since I got it and it can not work very well. I need to make sound with really hard strength. The sound is not good. A little noisy,. But It is worth for the price.

Complete junk - totaly unusable
Despite many reviews warning of the low quality and functionality of this product, there were so many seemingly positive reviews that I presumed the negative reviews were from older inventory or just bad luck. That all many be true, but the bow I received was very poorly constructed and nothing like what is pictured. That aside, if it functioned as a violin bow I most likely would have kept it. However, it is so poorly assembled that no amount of tensioning of the bow will tension more than about 10% of the hairs. Even with the bow over-tensioned, the 2/3 of the middle section of the bow is just a bunch of loose hairs. It is not usable as a bow. A few crossed hairs or a few % overly loose could be easily corrected, but even fully tensioned, the hairs in the middle look little different than with the bow completely untensioned.I have to assume that a lot of people who buy this bow and claim their "kids love it", etc., either have no idea how a bow is supposed to work or sound like or got very lucky and received one that works. But the finish on the parts is so abysmal that I am amazed that anyone keeps this product.I have about 6 years of violin playing. I'm far from a pro, but I know how to play and I definitely know how a bow is supposed to work and sound, and this one fails miserably. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for a bow, even for a beginner or a child.

Definitely for a beginner or someone just getting back into playing like me.

This bow stick did not allow adjustment
Stick did not bow a bit under tension.UpdateWhile I originally gave this item a one star rating, I was impressed with ease of return. New bow arrived quickly and works very well.

Can't get it to produce sound
Maybe it's the rosin, but can't really get it to work.
