Oh, man, I was so excited to try this 7 months after my gastric sleeve. The reviews on bariatricfoodie.com seemed so great. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. For starters, it smelled like the bottom of a dumpster. Once I got over that, I prepared a small portion for myself and my wife per the directions. Imagine my surprise when it had the consistency of pencil erasers. This stuff could just not be chewed. I hurt my jaw trying to mash it up in my mouth, but to no avail. I ended up just swallowing it whole. Big mistake. I could feel the strands in my stomach for the next 2.5 hours. yes, I know it's made from konjac root, and should be very filling, but this was not a filling feeling. This was a feeling of being assaulted. After this one-bite attempt, I had to spit the rest out. My wife actually gagged (and she had much more marinara sauce on hers than I did) and puked it out. She couldn't even eat one bite. Can we call what I did "eat" anyway? This stuff is disgusting. Several days later I made normal, regular spaghetti using whole-grain noodles, a very small portion to satisfy my gastric sleeve, and was very happy to have my spaghetti desire satisfied. It will NEVER happen with this fake noodle garbage. Uck!!! Worst food experiment of my gastric sleeve experience. DON'T BUY THIS STUFF!!!
