Light Weight, perfect for women and old fat guys like me!
This ladder tuned out to be pretty inexpensive. The suggested retail was listed as 164.00 marked down to 89.99 if I recall. Of course the listed full price could be anything and then the mark is, in my opinion, the real full price. But all that aside I opened an Amazon credit card and got a 40.00 discount at the time of purchase so 59.99 with free prime shipping made this a very good buy for me price wise. The ladder is extremely compact and when fully folded would easily fit in the back seat of a car or in the trunk, The weight is good even for a woman to move about at 27 pounds. In its fully extended length of 12 feet it can easily be moved about with no undue stress to your back. For the record I am 65 years old overweight and totally out of shape. In the 6 foot 'A' configuration its handy that both sides have steps as opposed to a normal 6 foot ladder that has steps in one side only. Now some points that may prove to be bad for some people. While the 4 sections can be set in a variety of angles, it can't really be used to paint on stairs as the fold up section is not even close to a standard stair riser. Also, if you look closely at the base you will see the horizontal legs. The items have to be attached to the ladder by you. Seems simple and it should be except the holes don't line up very well and they fit so tight that they quite difficult to "try" to line up. I ended up drilling the holes out so I could insert the bolts. Don't get crazy when you tighten down these bolts and nuts as its quite easy to crush the aluminum with the torque from a socket wrench. Still worth 5 stars though even with these minor shortfalls.

Great price for a decent ladder. Make sure and use the right locking mechanism!
This is a pretty good ladder, especially for the price. Similar ladders ranged in the $200 + range, I got this one for $75. After a month of use, I can say that I feel pretty comfortable on it, or as comfortable as I can 12 feet up in the air. From climbing onto the roof, to hanging holiday lights, to trimming trees, it held up. It seems sturdy and well made, although mine has a slight deformity to one of the braces at the bottom which makes one end not sit all the way flush on the ground. Just looking at it, I am guessing it happened during shipping, as the box had taken a pretty solid beating. A bit of hammering and adjusting got it sorted. One note to keep in mind. Some of the reviewers complained about the locking mechanisms as being difficult and sharp. However! My second time using the ladder, I noticed that there are actually latch handles behind each joint that you can just lift to lock and unlock the ladder. Previously, I had been adjusting it by hand with the actual locking bolt, which was a pain in the neck (and hand). The only assembly required was attaching the stabilizers to the bottom of each side. Just 2 nuts and 2 bolts on each one.One day I'll spring for a really nice locking ladder, but for now this is an excellent addition to the shed that lets me do anything requiring a ladder around my house.

I got one that was easy to configure and re-configure.
It appears that there are many different manufacturers of this item since I read other reviews when the instructions for removing the plastic protection on the bottom of the ladder were non-existent in order to screw on the stabilizers. Different people removed them in different ways that would not work for the one I got. Those plastic parts were put on as if they were meant to be non-removable. One popped of using a screwdriver as leverage, while the other three required using the same screwdriver to tear it apart piece by piece. I deducted one start for this since I almost returned it in fear of breaking something with all that prying. However, once those were removed on the stabilizer screwed into place, it was not that difficult to shape it to the configuration that I need it to be in. I did not have any issues with pinched or squeezed fingers since my version had a levers than made it easy to release and maneuver the ladder. It's difficult for me to recommend this for another buyer since it appears that different buyers got different models so who knows which one the next buyer will get. I don't have an issue with the ladder breaking or close to breaking that other readers have expressed.

Worked Like A Charm!
Like another reviewer, this ladder piqued my interest about this type of product which I had seen advertised on television. I was in need of an extension ladder in the height range, but didn't really want to deal with storing it--and what's more -- I live in the North East and I needed this ladder for my condo in Florida that has vaulted ceilings with recessed lights. The idea of meeting this need with a unit that stores in a compact space was appealing, and I could get it shipped to FL free of charge as I am an Amazon Prime member. The ladder is everything I expected. It works great as an A-frame stepladder. Although it is heaver than the 8-foot stepladder I'm retiring, it is also less bulky which is a good trade off when manuvering it to where I need to use it. It is also useful outdoors as a taller stepladder. The feature to allow it to be set up on stairs is a great plus. The main reason I wanted a new ladder was to get a long enough extension to reach the recessed lighting in the ceiling of our condo. This ladder just reached and served the purpose.I haven't had a chance to use it in the scaffold support mode, but I did do a test set-up, and it appears that it will work well for this purpose as well. The ladder is sturdy and well-constructed. It is very stable when properly setup, and I was comfortable and confident while using it. I highly recommend this product. Worked like a charm!
