Great!
I have ordered Zest and Zing spices before, which were great so wanted to try some of their other products. This didn't disappoint! I got this for a BBQ I was having, looked great on the table and tasted even better. I would recommend.

The right olive oil for salad dressing
Very light but also very tasty 😋

Faulty and dangerous pourer
I barely got the chance to even taste this oil as the fixed-in plastic pourer jammed. I managed to get just a tablespoonful of olive oil out of it before it refused got liberate any more! Now, these plastic pourers are usually inserts of a softer plastic (for example, bottles of bakery lemon juice etc) that can easily be ejected by use of a knife or even a spoon or something similar. However, the plastic pourer on this bottle (and on a similar bottle purchased before this one from another manufacturer is a very, very hard, solid type of plastic and it seems to be somehow fused into the glass neck of the bottle. It's IMPOSSIBLE to remove!!!I ended up having to saw the thing off with a sharp, serrated knife (dangerous, as I could have seriously cut myself due to the slipping on the oily film the thing now had!). By the time it was sawn off, there was a lot of plastic saw-filings that may possibly now have entered into the oil inside the bottle and spoiled it!!! I noticed also that there is a small glass ball inside the pourer that probably regulates the dispensing of the oil. This went down my sink drain and is now probably stuck in one of the plumbing bends!!!After sawing off the pourer, I then discovered I could no longer screw the top back on the bottle as the thread for doing so must have been moulded as an integral part of the plastic pourer.I did purchase a similar bottle of olive oil from another manufacturer a few months ago prior to this purchase. The other bottle seemed alright until I got to about a quarter of the way before empty. At this point, the exaxct6 same thing happened and I could not get any more oil out!Bottom line is that it seems to be a fault with the plastic pourer insert as - for this purchase - I only managed to get a mere tablespoonful of oil out of a bottle I paid £17-£18 for!!!

Faulty pouring spout
The oil is delicious - when it decides to pour! However, the pouring spout on the bottle I received is very temperamental and normally only dribbles out even when the bottle is shaken all over the place to try and dislodge anything blocking it. Shame and not what you'd expect for £17.95 bottle of olive oil!

Unjustifiable price
There is a lot of hype around premium olive oils at present, but this one just doesn't justify the price.I do think it is worth buying decent olive oil - you can hugely improve the taste of oil that you might use as a dressing or for dipping bread into for not that much money. But you definitely don't need to spend this much. I compared this to the taste of a bottle that cost less than half as much, and couldn't tell any difference.Sure, pay more for decent olive oil, but not this much.

Light, Fresh Tasting And Delicious!
If you compare it to the standard supermarket stuff, premium olive oil may seem pricey at first. Once you try it though, you'll realise what a big step up in quality single estate and small batch olive oil really is. It's like comparing a premium vintage wine with a four pound special from the corner shop - pay more and you have the chance to enjoy something special, with greater quality and complexity of taste. This cold pressed Italian olive oil from Zest & Zing is delicious. It has a lovely light mouth feel and a fresh, grassy taste with a hint of pepper on the finish. There's none of the heavy, mouth coating oiliness you can find with a cheap supermarket oil. This is an olive oil that begs to be drizzled over a good salad, freshly grilled fish or freshly made pasta. I very much enjoyed it earlier for lunch, with a plate of sliced vine ripened tomatoes, bufallo mozarella and mixed herb leaves. I added a generous drizzle of Zest & Zing then a few drops of 12 year old balsamic vinegar. Heaven! My only disappointment with the bottle I was honoured to receive as a test sample was the short date on it. Olive oil is the reverse of fine wine, and deteriorates with age. Freshest is best, and my bottle had a production date of 2018 and only four weeks left in-date. I'm already able to taste hints of oxidation, and a fresher bottle would I'm sure have revealed a more complex and pleasing taste profile. This is not the fault of Zest & Zing though, so it would be unfair of me to downrate their oil because of it. I just recommend you check the remaining life on the bottle when you order it. I also suggest keeping it somewhere cool and out of sunlight, to maintain maximum usable life.Do give it a go - it's a really tasty olive oil.

Worth the premium
I bulk at the price of these premium olive oils, and then when I taste them I’m reminded they are perhaps worth it, there is simply no comparison with most of the day-to-day olive oils on the supermarket shelves. Definitely something to be reserved for those occasions where a quality oil will shine through.
