Chicago Die Casting #600A5 1/2x6 Pulley

The original water pump for my Onan MCCK 6.5 Marine generator became expensive and difficult to replace at $1000 IF you could find the new rebuild parts. So I bought a $220 Sherwood raw water pump and made my own mount for my Onan Marine Generator. I needed a 6 inch pulley with 1/2 inch shaft size to turn the water pump at the correct speed for the volume of water not to exceed 4 gallons per minute. I was concerned on the price of this pulley whether it would be durable enough especially with the spokes. The pulley was a perfect fit except it has NO Keyway slot..so that was the only disappointment. I had to cut my own key way with a hacksaw blade which surprisingly was easy to do with this pulley material being soft enough to cut it out within a few minutes. Add some Loctite and install the new pulley and I have ran my Generator on my boat for 8-10 hours at a time without any issues. This pulley is a excellent price..runs straight and seems very strong..I am very happy with the purchase. I just wish it had a key way already in it...

Works as intended. Finish is consistent with inexpensive aluminum casting. The casting is a little rough, but there were no sharp edges to be removed in the belt groove.

Pulley was shipped on time but was warped causing my homemade stainless tumbler to bounce all over the place, I will replace this one with another and see if I get better results if not I might go down to a 5in pulely that is a solid cast unit vs this 6in one with spokes.

Works great. It runs the hydraulics on my tractor.

The picture shows a solid metal pulley. The one received has spokes. Not the same pulley that the description picture shows.

Works exactly as I hoped it would. Slim style fits in narrow opening with enough room to install belt. Terriffic!
