Nice piece of furniture overall but they forgot to put the instructions in the box so my hubby had to look it up online. It is also not an easy "throw together" project so get ready for about 3 to 5 hours just depending how inclined you are to putting things together. If you are a spaz you might want to hire the company to do it for you. The stain smell goes away in a couple of days--it is just because it is packaged up after they stain it and the smell gets trapped for a bit till you air it out.

The wood is mostly solid and the color is a nice dark expresso, but the lacquer smell is really strong. Also, the paint is already chipping off of the ladder. I like the fact that is has a desk and a a lot of storage. It's a nice looking bunk bed set but it's been 3 days and it still smells like lacquer.

Horrible
The worst experience with a product in my entire life, by far. A bag of nuts were missing and there were two rights sides and no left. After two attempts at getting all the right parts from the manufacturer, I finally gave up and ordered the nuts from elsewhere. It took two months to resolve this.
