I had an Onn from Walmart, which worked good, but there was a slow recharge with it. This one recharges faster, seems to have a stronger flash capacity (worked well with my 64" PLM with diffuser for newborns), and is super portable. It also fits both my Canon DSLR and it works on my Sony A6000 which a lot of flashes do not without modification, because of the design of them. The batteries seem to last a good while, although their is also an option for an external power cord as well, which works well if you are shooting indoors. While it doesn't support Zoom or TTL for the price, I think it a great purchase, and you can use any of the receiver/transmitters (I use the 2.4G Neewers with 16 channels) and make it an off camera flash as well. I sometimes will use multiple cheaper speed lights and place them on my light stands with an adapter for umbrellas or diffusers, for what I am capturing, instead of dragging out my studio lights, and getting it all set up.

I was encouraged by the reviews and as such, I bought this flash to use as my backup in the event my main failed.Decided to give it a test run on a job I was doing. The flash failed after 100 shots at 1/8. Absolutely rediculous!! It wasn't even under any pressure.It didn't fall, didn't get wet, wasn't used in any difficult conditions.Poor value for money. After all the hype, VERY DISAPPOINTED. My advice- LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Very easy to use, I had to play with the settings a lot to get the lighting effect I wanted but it was definitely worth it. Thinking about buying a second.

Great and simple

Used for vacation bible school and it was great!

While it puts out a good bit more light than the inexpensive speedlights costing only $30 less, it puts out considerably less light that the high end ones do. No zoom. That being said, the quality and flexibility of these lights is extremely good. I have used them quite a bit since I purchased them (I got 2) and they have worked flawlessly. Recycle time is much faster than other lights I have used in this price range. The beep when ready feature is nice. It's a basic light (no TTL), but frankly the price you pay for the fancy features in other lights is way too high for the way I use the lights. Overall, I'm really happy with these. May buy some more to replace the slightly cheaper ones I also use currently.
