Nice warm light!
This is a pretty robust unit and feels quite solid. The touch-sensitive buttons on the front work well; including when you need to do a "long touch" to get the radio to search for stations. (The usual not-great-English in the instructions but I found it understandable still.)The basic FM radio actually works quite well; I just have the aerial hanging off the edge of my table and the reception is fine where I am in a small city. The 'sunrise' light comes on about a minute before the alarm time. It comes on gradually but still quite quickly - not the "gentle rise" I was expecting! There are various alarm sounds, some are OK but others (especially the breaking waves one) sound tin-like, a feasible attempt at creating the sound rather than sampling a real wave sound. An OK wake up alarm. Good to try if you want to see if this kind of thing works for you. Perhaps if it does help you wake up you'll want to try a better one later; this on is not a SAD light at all.

Amazing
Absolutely amazing product. I use the alarm, light and charger mainly, and even for these three things alone it is amazing. Was only looking for a bedside lamp and realised I could get this for the same price (I had it for £15 on offer on here) which had other functions. Don't need to use my phone for an alarm anymore and love how it gradually wakes up. Don't feel as groggy in the mornings!

Fundamentally flawed and not fit for purpose
I greatly regret purchasing this item, but I'll start with some positives for the sake of fairness.Pros:- the 'lamp' button gives a bright light on the highest setting, which I initially, mistakenly believed (see Cons) would mean it would make a good 'wake-up light'- it has a mood lamp option, which can either cycle through multiple colours or stay on one colour- 2 different alarm times can be set- it has a digital clock display- it has an FM radio- it apparently displays temperature and humidity in the immediate vicinity of the clock for, um...reasons?Cons:- the clock display is extremely bright and cannot be dimmed or switched off - I don't have blackout curtains (so am less likely to notice additional light sources) and normally facing away from a digital display lets me ignore it, but this completely disturbed my sleep and I was forced to permanently cover the clock section- the audio alarm is compulsory and cannot be reduced to zero volume- there is only one alarm sound (despite what another reviewer claimed) that cannot be changed to the radio- the (totally separate from the alarm) FM radio is poor and you cannot manually enter the station you want - you have to hope it will find your preferred station when scanning, which is fiddly to do- the lowest volume for the radio is still quite loud and will disturb anyone you share a room with- the mood lamp can only be on maximum brightness, so is not soothing- you cannot manually choose the colour light you want, you have to wait for the mood lamp to cycle through and then stop it at the desired colour- you cannot choose the days the alarms apply to, so you have to remember to switch them on and off as applicable the night before- the sunset mode stays at roughly the same moderately dim setting for about 20 minutes, then over mere seconds dims and switches off - I cannot believe this dramatic change in lighting will ease anyone towards sleep and you'll have to remember to block the clock to even notice that the light is off- the sunrise mode is, like the sunset mode, not gradual- here is the biggest negative of them all - the sunrise mode never gets even close to as bright as the 'lamp' (again, despite what another reviewer claimed), it actually gets to about as dim as the sunset mode and no brighter when the audio alarm kicks in - what on earth is the point in having a bright 'lamp' option in a 'wake-up light' if the sunrise mode never brightens fully? Waking to this lamp (with the clock covered or else you won't notice the light anyway) still leaves you groggy and your body feeling that it is night because the alarm light is so dull and orange. If you want a bedside lamp with multiple colour options and a poor quality FM radio, or a permanently on nightlight (due to the powerful glare from the clock display), this product could be for you, although I imagine there are cheaper options available. If you want a 'wake-up light', 'sunrise alarm' or 'sunrise & sunset fading night light', which is what this is sold as, this product is absolutely NOT for you.I can only presume that those glowing 5* reviews were paid for, given how inaccurate and misleading they are.
