I bought the viewer for one purpose and it serves it well. That is to read the always small and often low contrast numbers printed on small electronic parts such as transistors and capacitors. The photo illustrates. I have a 22 inch monitor on my PC and when the viewer is set up as shown in the pictures of it the magnification is 15. That's just right for a transistor number. Although the item description states magnifications up to 250 I was not able to achieve this much. By taking the scope out of the mount and setting the end flat against the object I obtained a magnification of 52. As I stated that's no problem for me the value of 15 is all I need. I am a happy buyer and would recommend it to anyone. The software was easy to install, starts quickly, and runs reliably.

It honestly took a while to figure out how this setup was supposed to work with my iphone, but some patience and the instruction manual got me through it. Took pics of some loose leaf tea. Things look so wild magnified! The only downside is that you can pnly use the manual zoom/focus if using with an iPhone and can only take screenshots of what you are seeing. The in app controls don’t work with Apple products. *shrug* Still works though.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The software was easy to load. It if fun to use and takes excellent pictures and video. The microscope stand is somewhat useless and the scope is very difficult to focus unless it is sitting on a flat surface. As a result, depending upon the surface and item in question, you only have one magnification that can be in focus. If the magnification is adequate, everything is wonderful. If greater (or lesser) magnification is desired, you are out of luck. Excellent for looking at the macro structures of insects, caterpillars, flowers, etc..

The microscope is a great idea but my WIFI router crashed every time I used it.Needs a little more work software wise

Don't waste your money. The closeup pictures in their advertising are obviously not taken with this thing.

If you do, you may as well forget about it. It too forever to figure this thing out. I have a MacBook Air, and we couldn't get it started with that, so we switched to PC, which helped. Setting it up and figuring it out for the first time was frustrating. Once that was done, though, it was cool. It's the fun kind of learning being able to grab a piece of lint or hair or rock to look under it at home.
