Second pair of Jafrums, even better than the last.
I have bought bags from Jafrum before, maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I previously purchased the less expensive ones and they lasted 3 or 4 years until they started getting some small holes in the bottom. Due to the weather I ride in I wasn't surprised. I decided to buy these upgraded bags because of the flaps that cover the sides over the opening, in order to prevent weather and sediment from getting in. I have a Softail Nightrain and these bags fit perfectly. They look good, not great but honestly not bad at all. When you receive them in the package you will think they look cheap and like plastic, once you put them on the bike and they wear down a bit they look good and for the price you can't get a bigger or better bag. I didn't use brackets, I just had to make more holes on the part that holds them together and I tied them to the frame. I recommend them and I will continue to buy from Jafrum unless I come in to a lot of money in which case I'll spend a few hundred on some really nice bags. These bags also have a hard plastic lining which prevents the holes i mentioned from appearing in my last bags from affecting the effectiveness of the bags, it also helps keep it's form. Hope this review helps, and I suggest buying them and trying them on your bike.

Seems to do the job...
So I'm writing this review after only one day of riding with these saddlebags. This is going to be an initial impressions review, with just a tad bit of actual usage.First, these things look cheesey. The leather is very hard, and I would call it more ofa leather veneer, than actual leather. It feels like a box, not a bag.Second, they are a lot bigger than I anticipated! That's not a bad thing, I was just surprised. They actually are a little bit bigger than I wanted, and almost don't fit on my Kawasaki Vulcan 800.They do work, but they just push against the rear turn signals a bit. Not a deal breaker.Because they are so big, they hold a ton of stuff! I can fit a change of clothes, shoes and my lunchinto just one bag! I can finally pick up milk and bread on my ride home when my wife needs me to!Now I mentioned that these seem cheesey, but they do seem to be sturdy. They are harder than I expectedthem to be, but that's also not a bad thing. They hold they're form, and I don't have supports hooked up yet,so the rigidity seems to help keep them in place. They have two fastening strings made of leather to attach to supports (or in my case, just the frame of the bike).I would have liked to see something better than just a piece of leather rope to tie, but they didn't come off on my rideinto work today, and I was on the highway doing speeds close to 75MPH.I plan to put my supports on tonight and get these set up properly, but I was just really excited to get these on the bikeand not have to wear a backpack riding my cruiser. So all in all, I think these are decent bags for the price! They're big, seem pretty well made, but again are more plasticfeeling than actual leather. But I did kind of expect that at this price point. So know what you're getting rather than thinking you're going to get super nice leather bags for $60.UPDATE - 07/27/13I've been blessed with about ten clear days here, and that meant ten days of riding.I'm still lovin' these bags! They are holding up great, still look new, and are holding their shape.I've done mostly country driving, but a few trips on the highway and they do great.Still not attached to supports and they haven't moved. I think they are getting worninto the spot they are and there's really no need for supports that I can see. Will post another update in a few more weeks.

For the money, this is fantastic!
I was skeptical about this item being made from actual leather. It is!The workmanship and craftsmanship is decent.Remember what you're are paying for this item. This is not a $500 set of bags but, for the money, it's thick enough, more than large enough (big smile) and appears that it may hold up for a few seasons. My suggestion for anyone who gets these bags. Give them a rub down with mink oil for leather. My only complaint would be there was a discoloration, probably due to shelf age (whitish) but was able to rub it out with the mink oil. Which also feeds the leather and ultimately, will make these inexpensive bags last even longer.FYI: These bags are installed on a 2010 Sportster XL1200L with wire brackets.

Don't Bother
Don't waste your time or money on this bag, the description states that the bag is made of heavy leather...it's not. The bag is constructed of lightweight leather and cheezy, I plan to return it today.

NOT Happy with it
The bag is not hard as its written, and the leather material SUX and not like the description. Its not that bad but I thought the leather will look better than this

Great for the money.
I have used these saddlebags for several road trips now. I ride a 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom and do not use any bag supports. I just throw them over the rear fender and tie the front of the bags to the frame with the supplied ties. The bags are very rigid and holds shape very well. There is plenty of space for storage. When I travel I keep one side filled with my rain suit, first aid kit, goggles, gloves, and a small kit that contains a pocket Atlas, pen, tire gauge, etc. The other side contains whatever is needed for that particular trip. When stopping for the night it takes only a few seconds to remove the bags from the bike if you choose to do so. The bags are not overly attractive, which is what I wanted, but they are very functional. The straps can be unbuckled with the traditional buckle or simply use the quick release button straps hidden behind the buckles. All in all these bags are an excellent value.

Would buy again.
I'm writing this review with some experience with these bags. My girlfriend and I took a 700 mile weekend ride and packed only what we could fit in the saddle bags. They were large enough for a couple of small back packs filled with clothes, and a spare gallon of gas. These bags were fairly inexpensive, they held on well and the throw over part was simple to install. My only downside is my fault :/. They push against my blinkers because they're so big. I'll just relocate my blinkers to accommodate the space though. They held up well in the weather, wind and the few snow flakes we got on the trip. Worth the price even if they only last a couple years.
