AnolonAdvanced Hard-Anodized Dutch Oven Multipurpose Steamer Set, 8.5-Quart, Graphite

We cook large quantities of Latin American rice (pilaf style, arroz con pollo, arroz a la valenciana nicaraguense) for gatherings....you saute the rice with some oil and onion, then you add water and salt, boil til you see craters in the rice with very little liquid at the bottom of the craters, stir once, cover, put on low and cook til done, usually about 20 minutes. We only do large quantities for our holidays, but I wanted a nice pan for the job.This pan succeeded on all levels:1) Perfectly even heating on my glass-top electric stove.2) Stay cool handles on pot and lid, no pot holder needed for the rice making!3) Lid MUST fit perfectly with no steam loss...it is PERFECT!4) Ridiculously easy to clean...basically, a quick dunk, a soapy swish and you're done!5) Enjoyable look and feel. I like a heavy pan and while this isn't really that heavy, it's heavier than many of the other non-stick ones that I've lifted up. For me, this is my "easy" pan when I don't want to pull out my cast iron enamel (which I don't like for making my rice, cuz it sticks.)I test drove this pan with 4 cups of rice and it was perfect. For our holiday, I did 8 cups of rice, and it was also perfect. In fact, I could probably do 12-14 cups of rice, were it needed. This review is very rice focused and most people won't be using their pan for rice, but I thought I'd post this because someday, someone will read all these reviews, wanting to know if they can make a large quantity of arroz con pollo, pilaf, even standard American or Chinese rice in larger quantity. And for those Spaniards among you who want to know if you can get a nice socarrat, the answer is absolutely YES! I got a slight one while the rice went for 20 minutes on the lowest setting, so had I chosen to turn up the heat more, I could have gotten a much nicer one. When my rice was done, I covered the pan with a cotton towel and then the lid...it absorbed the extra moisture I didn't need and my rice come out with perfectly separatef kernels.As with any rice, small or large quantity, you need a very tight lid to keep all of the steam in. This pot succeeds like a champ! I was really surprised, as the glass lid isn't very heavy. I had NO steam escaping. I love my Instant Pot & Staub enameled Staub cast iron Dutch Ovens, but it is really nice to use something that's lighter than cast iron, with no potholders needed. If you are getting older like me and tiring from the heavy weights, give this pot a try. Anolon claims that you can use metal utensils, but I don't recommend it...I've always used non-metal and while I think Anolon is very durable, it's downhill with any non-stick pan once it starts getting scratched. I HAVE had to replace my Anolon skillets...they last me about 5-7 years each, from a lot of use, and some people in my household are not as careful as I am. I always find one on sale and keep it in the back room until that special day, when the old has given its best. I don't plan on having one of these 8.5 qt in the wings though, it won't get the tough use that my skillets get. If you're going to use metal utensils and use this pan everyday with a lot of stirring, my guess based on experience of 22 years with Anolon, is you could get 5-7 years from the non-stick and the rest of the pan will be perfect. I hope to get about 20 with this one!

Love my Anolon accolade pots and pans easy to clean, cooks well. Inly thing I do not like is that the handles on the pots do get very hot and description said they were heat resistant

Good size — food doesn’t pop all over cooktop. Light weight and ez to clean. I recommend.

Wonderful product! Very large steamer basket! Which is what I was wanting when I ordered it. It's perfect for steaming veggies for our entire family. It's even roomy enough for tamales.

This product is everything I expected. Perfect for steaming vegetables out of my garden. I would recommend this item to all who want the convenience of a dutch oven and steamer in one.

Exactly what I wanted and expected. Love it!

I love the product and would have given it a 5 * rating, however it arrived with damage to the rim of the glass lid, unfortunately i didn't notice the damage until i first used it and therefore was to late to return the product. Disappointing, I will now think twice before purchasing any more Anolon products
