The lifespan of the battery is too short
The price for a genuine DELL J60J5 7.6V 55Wh 4-Cell Notebook Battery is pretty good. I paid $66.66 at sansi on Amazon before taxes. Dell charges $120 for this battery. Unfortunately, this battery has a very short lifespan. I am a moderate user, and my laptop is plugged in most of the time, but after a year and 44 days, the battery's capacity provides me with 45 minutes under light conditions. That is somewhat disappointing to me since other Dell batteries that I purchased in the past didn't degrade as quickly under similar conditions as this one and provided power for at least 2 hours after 2-3 years of use.

Battery works. Use the removable cable from the dead battery to install the new one.
So, I ordered this item thinking that it came with the cable, but it doesn't. Turns out the original battery has a removeable cable, so you can detach it from your faulty original battery (if you still have it) and attach it to the new battery. I think it would be helpful if there was a note in the original listing mentioning that the cable from the OEM battery is removeable. Didn't have time to test the new battery, but it at least fully charged, and I'm hoping that it's still working fine in my dad's laptop.

This battery will not hold a charge
I took it out of the box, installed it and left it charging for 24 hours. The laptop lasted for 2 hours before it went dead. Now it has to be plugged in all the time while in use.

Fire Hazard Fake
I am refurbishing a bunch of dell e7470 laptops and have tried a number of batteries now and I can say this is hands down the worst and is a total fake dell product.I'll get to the reasons I think it's fake but first I want to share how badly this performed. Opon arrival, the battery looked warped and like the cells were slightly bloated. I let the battery acclimatize before installing just in case it was a temp issue. After installation, I tried to turn the computer on to see if there was any juice in it but the power light didn't even flicker. I plugged it in and let it charge but about 5 minutes in I heard a horrible hissing noise coming from the battery. I decided to just see where the charge was at before opening the laptop back up again. The laptop said the battery was at 56% so I unplugged it from the charger and it instantly went black. I then opened up the laptop again to smell a horrible chemical smell that was likely lithium vapor which is not only unhealthy but very flammable. Just to be sure there was nothing wrong with the specific laptop, I threw another battery in and it performed fine. So, the reasons I believe it's a fake: the photo above shows a factory dell battery (which I have many of and know for a fact is factory) on the right and the fake on the left. The labeling and stickers arw totally different. As I said before, I've tried a few different batteries now and I realized that one of the no name ones I have looks identical in its labeling but just doesn't have the dell logo like this one. It's a complete rebrand.Save your money and go with a reputable 3rd party battery.
