I just got the batteries today and they are not compatible with the dremel 8220. As you can see from my photos I have circled that there is a key. On the left that is the dremel battery and on the right the purchased battery replacement.. they are not compatible and now I need to return it.. the comments by the seller are not accurate or dremel made a change to the batteries.

As someone mentioned and shared pictures, these batteries will not fit the 8220 Dremel. It's a proprietary thing probably instituted by Dremel. However if you have already ordered this not knowing about the issues, there is a simple fix, and this should also not stop others from ordering these aftermarket batteries if you are looking for a compatible battery at a decent price. We have all ran into this in the ink to printer situation am I right? All you have to do is cut with a box knife the small square protrusion on the aftermarket battery and Bob's yer Uncle. I ran into this yesterday after these batteries were delivered. It took 5 seconds to realize what was going on.

They only take a short time to charge but they run out of a charge within about 15 minutes, max. One already won't charge at all. I sent a message to them stating this and how do they want to handle the rating and they said they would send me two more but I never received them so, here we are. I keep rotating them until they are all out of charge then take a break.

These suck. There is no way these are 3.5 ah. We have a factory battery that is 3.5 ah and last for a while. These are maybe 1.5ah-2ah at best. Have trouble getting them to for in the tool. They stick in the charger. Yes they have to same number as my original battery. Battery life sucks. I don't recommend these.

One of the two batteries had a broken contact, so it wouldn't charge. The batteries were packed very well with no sign of shipping damage. Time will tell if the intact battery works as good as or better than the factory unit.

These batteries are awful. I use them in an 8220 Dremel in my grooming shop for grinding dog toenails. They do not hold a charge. I rarely can get through all 4 Paws without running out of charge. They fit overly snug on the tool.

I had them for 6 months use them about a total of 20 full charge times and now they don’t hold a charge for more than 15 seconds.

Bought these for my husband for Christmas and so far so good! Best part is the aH and being able to use them than the other rechargeable batteries. Definitely comes in handy when working on a deadline.
