Satisfied customer!!!
This SPAL "low profile" fan competes with few others in this particular 5.2" (blade) diameter and price group, however compared to those, I think THIS fan is far superior. First of all, it is probably the absolutely thinnest and higher performing fan available for its compact size. It seems well designed and there is evidence of high degree of quality control in this Italian company's manufacturing process. I double checked the specs and found them quite accurate in terms of mechanical dimensions and the current rating of the electric motor of this fan. My application is a motorcycle oil cooler with very little clearance - barely enough for any fan - behind the cooler. There are obstructions on both sides - hot exhaust pipes - and directly behind the cooler, so the physical dimensions of the fan had to be no more than actually specified by SPAL. I do not have the means to measure the air flow rate, but this fan is spec'd at 342 CFM (at zero static pressure), which seems accurate based on my empirical testing. The OEM does not specify the rotational speed of their fans, but I measured ~5840 RPM.The minimum current spec is 4.8A at 13.0Vdc, at zero static pressure, so that makes it about a 62W fan. I measured 4.35A drawn from my 12V motorcycle battery at nominal voltage (not under charge). The only possible negative I can think of is that it does not come with a finger guard. It is certainly powerful enough to hack off a finger, but the trade off is that a guard would lower the effective flow rate at the expensive of a safer operational fan. Note, there is an identical version with a guard, but apparently not sold by Amazon. The only other potential negative is that this fan is plastic as opposed to metal, but still specified as waterproof to make up for any compromise in overall rigidity and durability.Overall, this fan will work well in my application with no fitment modifications required, so I am a satisfied customer.

2015 Duke 390 Factory replacement fan
Fan works great, as mentioned in many other reviews. For reference, I used this to replace my factory fan on a 2015 Duke 390. Install is fairly easy, only requiring one portion of the shroud to be trimmed down to fit factory mounting hardware. As an additional perk, the factory wiring plug can be easily swapped with the wiring plug that is included from Spal. This makes for a nice clean looking install when done. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a more reliable/better performing fan for your 2015 Duke 390.

KTM 390RC OEM replacement
I purchased this fan to replace the OEM, poorly manufactured stock radiator fan for my sons 2016 KTM RC390 Duke. The OEM fan failed, but prior to failing it blew a fuse. After reading many blogs and seeing that KTM has these on back order for months, I found an Austrian blog that said this was an exact replacement. At the affordable price-point, I pulled the trigger.Comparison to OEM:- This fan has the exact same bolt pattern as the KTM OEM.- This fan does not have the same shroud as the OEM.- This fan has a spacer on the 2 o'clock position that had to be ground down in order to allow the installation of the nut and washer. (simple with Drimel with cutting wheel)- This fan does not have the correct plug for KTM factory replacement. However, it is only (2) #10 wires color coded red and black and matches the factory KTM wiring in size and color. I removed the factory harness from the broken OEM and spliced it on this new motor. (simple electrical butt splice with some heat sink wrap to limit water contact.)Performance OEM:- OEM, (when working), was very loud and noticeable when it turned on- As the bearing started to fail in the OEM, the noise increased and cool capacity diminished considerably- As OEM the fan begin to fail, it blew the 15 amp fuse twice before I decided to replace before completely failingPerformance Spal:- With slight modification to the 2 o'clock position, it bolted right in place- SPAL is much quite than the factory KTM OEM fan- SPAL unit provides noticeably more air than the factory KTM OEM- SPAL unit surface operating temperature of the fan was much cooler than the KTM OEM fan- SPAL unit runs approximately (30) seconds to reduce temperature of the bike vs. (80) seconds of operation of the factory OEM unitOverall Satisfaction: VERY SATISFIED!!!For the application I purchased this unit, it exceeded my expectations!!

Powerful but a tick loud
Wow, this is a powerful fan! It moves a LOT of air for the size. It feels and performa like a real quality unit. Bought to assist AC cooling in a dead zone on my car. It's about as loud as the AC fan on a Tesla. Not terrible. Installed with a switch to kill it when not needed. I have little doubt that it will work for years (unlike what I read about similar Asian products.) I would highly recommend.

Looks different from picture
Fan works great and is high quality. 4 Stars only because it is a different fan than the one featured for the advertisement. If you look through the photos provided in other user reviews, you will see that the fan has 5 large paddle blades. The photo for the ad is a 10 or 12 blade design. Doesn't really affect anything because the fit and size of the fan are the same.

Great upgrade for a Duke 390
I bought this to get in front of the dreaded fan problems some model years experienced.I installed mine on a 2016 KTM Duke 390. It was a piece of cake. Toughest parts (which weren’t tough) was grinding down one post with a Dremel or other cutting tool and unplugging the plug.Note: you do not have to cut off the old plug and solder the wires onto the new fan! The spades can be removed from the plastic plug with a tiny screwdriver. Look for info on the web.The unit is well made, pumps a ton of air and is quiet. It drops the temperature by 30 degrees in 30 seconds using my IR gun.Highly recommended.BTW, I also upgraded the radiator cap to a better one, with a slightly higher pressure (1.8 BAR).

Little but strong!
To be mostly motor at only 5 inches the bade design is pretty good! Pulls a lot of air at minimal Amp draw. A tiny bit loud but not intolerable.
