Great whimsies in an otherwise standard puzzle
This one's all about the whimsies. The pieces and border are strip-cut standard **yawn**. The picture blends gently from one piece to another, making it difficult to see the whole thing until you have most of the puzzle together (unless you use the box picture, which I never do). For quite a while, I thought I was doing just another bland puzzle that happens to be made of wood, and then finally, starting past the halfway point and all the way through completion, the whimsies took shape. And that's where this puzzle gets its value. The shaped pieces are fun, cleverly placed, and at least one got me laughing. They are good enough to win back most of the points, and I'll end up doing the puzzle again at times (though it won't ever be my favorite).All-in-all, this one redeems itself via whimsies, and don't expect exciting pieces or a cool border otherwise. If classic-shape jigsaw pieces and straight borders are your preference, you may even really like this one.As usual for me, a point is deducted for: splinter-tastic cheap wooden box and amateurish, minimalistic labeling. Artifact is a great puzzle maker and deserves better than both.

Artifact and Liberty seem to be the standard-bearers in laser-cut puzzles
We prefer Artifact because much of their content is whimsical/cartoonish/colorful, thus a pleasant diversion from Real Life these days.We also like that their staff of designers are free (probably encouraged) to take full advantage of their imagination to create pieces far from the traditional rectangles with variations of round male and female connectors. The designs take advantage of the wood's strength and the laser's control to include delicate and intricate features that make the puzzle 'new and different' in ways that tickle the brain.Their site gives a paragraph or two to each puzzle, usually mentioning difficulty and any interesting or special features. Response to questions is very prompt; definitely a first-class outfit.

LOVE Artifact puzzles!
I started a puzzle group last February with 11 of my friends. We each bought an artifact puzzle, and on the first of every month we forward the puzzle we have onto the next person on the list. At the end of 12 months we will get our own puzzle back. We are all loving the concept, and these puzzles! Each puzzle has its own unique piece shapes, and of course the artwork itself is incredible. I continue to add to my collection, even though I have had a new one coming my way every month.

Outstanding puzzle design and precision.
We've purchased and completed a number of Artifact puzzles. Great selection of styles. Variety of puzzle design approaches with whimsical pieces, surprise assemblies, different connectors, and some uneven edges to add to the challenge. Always satisfying. And, the laser cut wood smells so good when you slide open the box. Our collection will continue to grow.

Best Puzzle Ever
This puzzle is far more challenging than one might expect. The pieces are cut to form creatures that add to the message of the puzzle. When completed, I placed it on a table in the living room because it is too beautiful to take apart.

A Gorgeous Puzzle!
I debated before buying this puzzle because I've become so fond of Artifact's irregular edged offerings with unusually shaped pieces, and this one is designed on a grid with a straight edge. However, I love this artwork by Kevin Sloan and have never been disappointed with a Tara Flannery design, so on a leap of faith I bought it anyway. I am so glad I did! I need not have worried. This is a fantastic puzzle. There are many whimsy pieces incorporated here, which I believe are deliberately not shown on this website in order to preserve the surprise. This is a very cleverly designed puzzle, and the clean edge and large finished size show off the beautiful painting perfectly.
