It is always a pleasure to encounter such a gifted writer who expresses her characters so precisely that we savor our time with them. Humor and Great Characters Make Perfect Match
I am old enough to have great nieces and nephews. I read this to learn about current children's books. I found these three books delightful! I was LOL at the humor of the writing (yes it appeals to older readers as well). Ivy and Bean are best friends and neighbors who are opposites of the same coin--they make a team certain to get into "trouble with cheese on top" before they wriggle out. How they do is always as fun as it is outrageous. And, of course there is a dreaded bossy older sister who doesn't stand a chance with this duo. And cool Moms who remain in the background of these adventures in a loving way. Annie Barrows' imagination is excellent company, she captures these kids perfectly. It is always a pleasure to encounter such a gifted writer who expresses her characters so precisely that we savor our time with them.

Both grandkids LOVED this story
My 8 yr old grandson and 6 yr old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed this series. Good books.
My kindergartener loves the stories and asked for more Bean and Ivy. I have recommended the books to a friend. "Can we read another one" is nice to hear from your child!

Good first chapter book for beginning independent readers
My 6yr old and 4yr old loved the story. I was a little wary of the attitude and unkind behavior of the characters. But I just explained that I fully expected them NOT to act like the characters in the book. It was an easy read for my 1st grader. It built her confidence to be able to read a chapter book on her own.

Charming tales of childhood
Cute and quirky, these stories have a ring of truth to them that every child will identify with. The title characters are wildly imaginative, and not afraid to be different from the rest of the crowd. These books should give children the courage to just be themselves and not worry what the world thinks.

My Grandkids loved this book.
They are 6 years old and 7 years old and I read these books to them on the long ride from LA to Phoenix. They (and me) laughed our heads off at the antics of Ivy and Bean. Situations that happen to kids and they may not quite have the skill set to handle them , Ivy and bean are very inventive and everything ends always well.

My 10 year old daughter loved this series
My 10 year old daughter loved this series, and so did I when I got it for $1.99 for the whole set, but the books are short, and she went through them quick, so I have not bought her the next set at $9.99, that seems a bit over priced, so will be waiting for another sale for the next set.

Easy Reading
I downloaded this so I could read a little each night to my 5-year old in order to get her in a routine for kindergarten. She loves the stories and cannot wait each night for the next couple of chapters. I have already downloaded the next 3 books.

Schönes Kinderbuch und gelungene Kindle-Umsetzung
Ivy und Bean enthält wunderbare Kindergeschichten (auf englisch), und diesmal muss sich die Kindle-Umsetzung nicht hinter einem Printbuch verstecken. Es ist günstiger, mobiler, die Bilder sind (auch auf dem "normalen" Kindle) klar und gut erkennbar. Gelungen!

Lots of fun!
I purchased these for my 8 year old daughter who was pleased to read them on her tablet using the Kindle app. She felt grown up with the ability to read like I do and it was also super handy to be able to download something new when she ran out of library chapter books one night. Really cute stories from what I can tell. I can hear my daughter giggle away while she reads them and comes out of her room to tell me what funny thing Ivy or Bean did. The book has small illustrations and language that is appropriate for a grade 3/4 reader.

My daughter loves these books
My 8 year old daughter loves these books. I have not read them but she did, and in a very short time. It was downloaded directly to her kindle so she can take them anywhere with her.
