Works well, very bright, very long lived, no problems.
Bought this to replace a 2x123 Surefire plastic body halogen. Yes, I still carried one of those in 2020, so that's my comparison. This light lives on my belt 5 days a week. It seems reasonably resistant to accidental activations. There is no "unscrew the switch to keep it from turning on" feature. The switch is molded to the body. The 10 tap programming system takes a few tries, but is nice to be able to get rid of the strobe mode. I've got it set to low with double tap high. I have yet to kill it in low mode using 18650 batteries. It's more expensive than a 502b ultrafire, but the light quality is much better. I expect this light to last at least 4 years and will update this review if it doesn't.The head is the same as the regular Polytac and they fit the same threads. Streamlight will tell you that they're different, but i can't find any difference other than "pay us more." The voltages are close enough between 2x123 and 18650 not to matter... hence the X model that uses both. If you need a new body because of a fall or you want to swap from the Polytac to the Polytac x (same threads, same switch, same clip, 18650 is the only difference), you're screwed and will be told "buy a new one" by Streamlight. This is not like that Stinger that's been on your belt or in your bag for the last 20 years where you can buy/swap replacement parts.2000 mah Westinghouse 18650s are sold in the walmart home section for $14 for 4. A decent charger and a four pack of batteries will probably get you through the next 5 years for less than $100 and a lot of saved weight compared to Stinger or Maglight. Don't buy any 18650 that claims more than 2300 mah capacity without a lot of research. Don't buy any that claim more than 3000 mah period.

Good value, holding up well.
Bought this as a cheaper alternative to the high end metal body tactical lights to mount on my PC Carbine. Really like the option to use the rechargeable 18650 batteries I already have for a high output headlamp. Mounted it in a Monstrum Tactical 1" offset picatinny mount I found for super cheap on Amazon and used a little loctite when I snugged the screws down. Put about 100 rounds through the carbine, including rattling off a couple mags as fast as I could and the light still works just like the day it arrived. The beam has a nice sized focus in the middle but still lights up a relatively wide area outside the focus, and works great for using my Bushnell TRS-25 red dot at night. For a fraction of the cost of the metal body options, this light is everything I was looking for in a light to mount on my carbine.

Great light at a great price.
I literally keep flashlights in every room, in the car and in every weapons bag that I carry. That can get very expensive FAST. These lights are a great value and put out a good amount of light. Streamlight's lifetime warranty is a huge plus.

Very bright
I got this because I did not want a tactical light that would be an aluminum frame. I like that the plastic helps to insulate the heat that is generated so it does not burn your hands. It is also very bright and fairly inexpensive. I do not like that the strobe feature requires a strange double click to function properly. I would have preferred to be able to just have an option to program the light so it would use strobe with the single click instead, but other then that its an amazing light.

Overall great, just a couple shortcomings...
Streamlight quality all tge way. Does not feel like a capital letter brand. I bought this one because after ten years of carrying and using a Stinger, which functioned flawlessly, i wanted something lighter. Get the rechargeable battery and use that exclusively. Those CR123s are pricey and bad on the environment, not ideal for a daily, heavy use flashlight.Pros: Pocket clip is handy and strong, allows carry with the head up or down. The rechargeable battery is easy to replace when it dies. Recessed tail switch, making it tough to accidentally turn on. Replacement clips are cheap.Cons: 650 lumens is a tad too bright for most outdoor needs. You'll lose your night vision as soon as you turn it off. My Stinger, at 450 lumens on high, seems to be the goldilocks number. There is no low battery indicator, which would have been nice, and its a feature on most Streamlights.Overall, id say this is usèable as daily heavy use light but only if you get rechargeable batteries.
