I am well impressed with this case, I have a Nikon D7000 and that takes a hit ever time I ever time I take it out. Buying the P1000 I wanted a proper protective case, and this was it. Excellent quality leather, soft lined and you get what you pay for and this is excellent. The Coolpix P1000 is a big expensive camera sling that over your shoulder unprotected and it will clunk into everything you pass. Who is this idiot posting a brief post saying it damaged my camera absolute nonsense and a mischievous post I think. Buy it with confidence well worth the money.

Fits the Nikon p1000 like a glove.Just I needed to protect this camera

Having purchased the Nikon P1000, I naturally wanted to protect this special camera. Looking around, I saw several camera bags/cases but was not convinced about the protection levels that they offered.However, when I saw this particular case, I decided to give it a try.I am pleased that I did.The case fits the P1000 nicely.Before using the P1000 with the case, I practiced taking the camera out of the case and then putting it back in several times so that the operation became second nature.I particularly like the fact that you can unclip part of the base of the case to replace the battery/SD card quickly and without fuss.The level of protection offered by this leather case is considerable so will protect the valuable camera from any inadvertent knocks.I do not recommend dropping the camera, however.The supplied P1000 camera strap is reasonably comfortable but there are several other padded straps that disguise the weight of the P1000 more effectively.It is still early days yet so I cannot give an objective assessment of the durability of the case but, so far, I am very pleased with it.I would recommend applying a leather treatment to the case every couple of months or so to keep the leather supple and pristine.For the price, I consider that it offers good protection for what is a highly specified, desirable and heavy, bridge camera, but not unduly so bearing in mind its astonishing specification.For the ‘tech’ incorporated in the P1000, this case is a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind that it offers.I recommend it.

Great case. Well made

Damaged a brand new camera, left permanent marks on the grip area of a very expensive piece of equipment. A case is supposed to protect not damage. Seller will be getting a bill for a replacement camera.
