QuakeKare Toilet Seat

It is what it is - a toilet seat you put on a bucket to make a camp toilet. They claim it will fit on any 3 to 6 gallon bucket, which is true, more or less. It doesn't fit tightly - or securely - on a "pickle bucket" I got from a fast food place; but it does work. I advise you get this first, then find a bucket at Lowe's Hardware or Home Depot that it will securely snap onto, and buy that. I weigh around 230 to 240 pounds, a friend who also tried it out weighs around 300 pounds; it is comfortable to use and sturdy enough to support either of us. I like having it for those late night or early morning "calls of nature", so I don't have to go out in the dark to find either a bathroom or a safe spot to go. I'm in the process of setting up a "permanent" campsite, and this will be part of the gear I use there, for inclimate weather and such. You can buy those bags that gell the waste, or use small trash bags, or just put a layer of cheap kitty litter in the bottom and add more after each go - any of those options or a mix of them will help control odors and make cleaning it out easier. A mix of sawdust, kitty litter and baking soda works too, absorbing liquids and smells. For the price, it's fine.

It is a simple plastic snap on toilet seat for a 5 gallon type bucket.The lid is cheap. The seat is cheap. The lid may break off at the hing. But.. This is a quick, simple, cheap, working solution to an issue.If you are a large person, you may not fit. I am 6'2" 180#, and I can use it. The seat snaps tight to a standard 5 gallon type bucket. The lid does not snap tight. but it does seal enough. Because of this and the nature of what you are doing, and the time of year, "condensation" appears on the underside of the lid. Wipe that off before you enjoy your time on this seat.

This was a cool idea! Though we haven't got to use it yet. I did put it on the bucket and sat on it. It's pretty cool and held me up. It was supposed to be for my husband on the rig but I decided to keep it cuz he breaks everything. He said he would rather use the pool noodle on the bucket anyways. I'm not sure why. I should buy another one so we both could have one, then he would probably take it. I think he didn't want to see me frown when he told me he broke it, LOL cuz seriously he truly does break or lose everything. But he's a seat heart.

Instead of walking (or riding a bike) in the middle of the night just so I am totally awake by the time I get back to camp, I set this up in the corner. Easy, secure, it snaps onto any 5 gallon bucket. The lid is a really nice touch. This is especially useful if you have little ones that just can't quite make it to the bathroom. It is low enough for them to comfortably sit. I also purchased the sanitation bags. Clean up couldn't be easier. Twist, tie, toss. The seat stores well since it's pretty flat. It slides in nicely behind the truck (or car)seat. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone going camping that does not have a self-contained trailer or motor home.

I bought this Toilet Seat to be the lid for my emergency kit which I am keeping in a 5 gallon bucket. The toilet seat does fit securely onto the bucket, however, the lid does not stay securely closed. If the bucket were tipped over, which is likely considering the hecticness associated with natural disasters, the lid would definitely come open and the contents of the emergency kit would spill out. I resulted to using a normal lid for my 5 gallon bucket/emergency kit to keep it closed, and put this toilet seat in my closet in case I go camping or tailgating. To be fair, I have not used this product to actually use the bathroom. I gave I 2 stars simply because it wouldn't stay shut.

It was as I had expected for the price. It's a little flimsy but will serve the purpose.

I initially bought this for an emergency situation, like if the power went out or some natural disaster like an earthquake. However, we have brought it camping and it's great for the kids so we don't have to keep walking 1/4 mile or so to the bathrooms every time they have to go. I never thought we would used it as much as we do. An unexpected great purchase.
