Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the image
Instructions leave a bit to be desired but I am very happy with the quality of the images. Superb views. Now I need a micro-adjustable stand for getting a small object in view and perfectly still. Right out of the box it will focus perfectly on the test grid at 20X when the grid is on the face of the transparent tube. For higher magnifications the object must be moved close to the lens which means inside the tube. Of course you need a very steady hand for the small adjustments. I have a picture of a part of the test grid (0.1mm spacing) at 20x and a picture of the edge of a dime at 20x. Another picture at a higher magnification of the edge of the dime - with the dime clamped and me holding the scope still as possible To go even higher I need mechanical assistance. For any microscope high magnifications always have a shallow depth of field.

Great price, very good images - room for stand improvement
Even though I had some difficulty installing included software on my ancient xp computer. I was able to use their provided simple viewing interface to take pictures and screen shots.Zooming in is cumbersome since the scroll to magnify is stiff and located on the camera which moves/jiggles and is hard to maintain focus. The "snap" and "zoom" buttons are also located on the camera which presents their own set of challenges. I used painters tape to "strap down" the base from wiggling. Mixed results, patience is a must.Other owners have suggested functions such and magnification and other buttons be located on the usb cable itself, and I completely agree. Like old fashioned lamps, rotary dials were located on the cord.In addition the scroller it is difficult to determine what magnification you are currently viewing. All the way left is 20X, and all the way right is 800X. Anywhere in between is anyone's guess.A full overview is available below.squinja.com/microCheers - squinja7000

Has too many issues to be considered a good product.
For the money this worked for what I needed but it has some real issues. The software crashes on different menus and when saving it doesn't actually save an image. I had to setup my shots again and then use a snipping tool to capture the images after I found out my original shots were never saved. The biggest problem is the focus wheel, it's too stiff for such a lightweight product. There is just no way you'll ever focus without moving the scope. I figured out how to work around the issues but regret the purchase.
