The media could not be loaded.  Oh wow!! When I ordered this tumeric, I guess I didn't realize how much 5 pounds would be. But, it was such a great price I couldn't pass it up. When I opened it, the smell of tumeric filled my nostrils. Fresh smelling tumeric.So, I put it all into glass jars and will be using it from there. I got 8 1/2 16 ounce jars. I have so many things I use this for. I make a Tomato Tumeric Detox Soup, Tumeric Tea that tastes wonderful and is so good at helping to keep my liver cleansed.I also use this to whiten my teeth. Yep... and I think it works. My teeth are old and you know how yellow old peoples teeth get. Try tumeric!! It will whiten them. Just don't get it on your lips.... it does stain and will stain the skin around your lips. Plus... it stains everything else it touches.Anyone know how to get tumeric stains out of clothing? Plus, a friend of mine told me she makes Tumeric Milk. I need to ask her for that recipe.Check out my video. Arthritis sufferers, chronic pain patients, inflammation in muscles, joints....this is for you. I stuff it in capsules I bought on Amazon, 00 size, and take 4 per day. My friends told me about the beneficial qualities of turmeric and I admit to skepticism. But I needed to delay a hip replacement as long as I could. I found that taking this stuff not only diminished my daily pain in my hip but worked throughout my body. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it has been used for hundreds of years as a pain reliever. I believe it takes about 4 weeks to begin working and then you don't want to stop taking it when you find out how well it works. I'm 72, still working, climbing tanks and fixing instrumentation in the outdoors and I can tell you that if you take this stuff every day (500 mg. capsules 4 times a day) you will greatly diminish your pain. It does stain your hands so fill your capsules with plastic or latex gloves on. This is the best turmeric out there, I'm convinced.

Though I originally started purchasing turmeric for my natural skin care products, not long after, I started taking it for joint pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties. I'm a walker, 4-6 miles per day and regularly had minor knee pain. I am also in my 60s and would like to remain as active as possible. Taking approx. 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric daily allows me to live virtually pain free. I have a friend who is in her 70s and she has had the same results. Instead of her complaining about pain, now, she regularly comments how nice it is to have no pain.Someone mentioned "filler", but the ingredients clearly lists 100% turmeric. I've had no problems with this product and will continue using it for my products and for my own health.

I am very impressed with the quality of this Turmeric powder. The bag I received was still sealed and the product is very fresh. Upon opening the bag, the intense smell of turmeric filled the room as it should. I tasted this straight and the flavor is robust, earthy, smooth and absent the bitterness you get from roots that aren't fresh. The first dish I made was some basmati rice with this turmeric, some onion, cumin, cayenne and salt. The flavor is exceptional!I repackaged this for longer storage since this is for day to day cooking. The best way to store this for long-term is to divide it into smaller portions and vacuum seal each portion, then freeze it. Make sure you let it thaw completely to room temperature before opening a packet for use later to avoid moisture issues.
