Great Low-Budget Underwater Housing for RX-100! Worth Every Penny!
I used this housing with my Sony RX-100 to do extensive snorkeling on our honeymoon. I was nervous putting it underwater for the first time, but it kept my camera safe and dry! We got excellent photos of the reefs. It has a large hinge on the side that clamps shut. It cannot be opened accidentally. There is also a softer plastic around the inside edge to seal the camera inside and keep water out. Here is what I noticed from using this for 2 weeks:Pros:- Access to all camera functions, all are easy to use as long as you're already familiar with the controls- There is room for the camera's flash to pop up. Once it opens there's no way to push it back down, but it can be disabled through the menu.- Came with a flash diffuser attached. Basically white plastic underneath the flash to lengthen the reach of the flash.- Can still make videos inside the case- Lightweight but solid and sturdy. It floats, so if you lose your grip on it underwater it's pretty easy to get back- Lenscap protects the housing lens when you're not using it. I liked to keep it on until I was out of the shallow reef area- Neckstrap that it comes with is very useful- There were no scares when underwater. This case kept my camera 100% dry. I also used it above water in situations where my camera might be splashed.- Has a cold-foot attachedCons:- The painted labels wash off. I think one of them said "Underwater" and the other had the depth marking. Not a big deal to me.- The hinge must be secured all the way, but if you're not paying attention it is easy to only secure it half-way and miss clamping it all the way down- The labels for the buttons are clear raised plastic. There's no reading what the buttons do underwater. This was not a problem for me as I am familiar with the controls.- The audio seemed to be a little distorted through the case. This might be a problem if you need to capture accurate sound. Even outside of the water, it had a mild static-y sound.

good product for the price. just make sure everything is removed from camera.
bought it for snorkeling trip to belize and it worked great. A few things to note. we initally tried it in pool (without camera)and it worked perfect, then we tried it on beach on a short near the shore swim to make sure everyting was working and after about 20 minutes my wife started noticing small beads of water inside and realised there was a small leak. not enough to endanger camera but enough that we took it out for the day to make sure everything was dry. After taking a closer look turns out my wife placed camera with camera string neatly placed inside . we removed the camera string and used it for the rest of the week with no problems. My wife loved being able to take her favorite camera underwater. took great pictures and there was minimal fogging. Moral of the story is remove everything from camera no strings or attachments. for the price it was a great deal compared to alternatives. these pictures came out better looking than my gopro.
