Hold Up Displays USA Made Locking Pistol Rack Handgun Gun Hanger

I used this on an heirloom rifle, and made a walnut barrel loop to hold up that end and prevent someone from wrenching the lockable part off of the wall. Looks good and while this lock would not deter a determined, strong thief with tools, it would most likely thwart a kid. A pistol, which is short, would probably be difficult to lever off of the wall.So, now the 100 year old nickel plated .22 my grandmother used 100 years ago is displayed, no longer hidden in the closet and that is good. Even guests who do not really like guns think this is a nice display and are good with it.I do not consider this to be a quickly accessible, home defense device, but then again I don't worry about that anyway as I would have to be carrying 24/7 to have that kind of protection and there is a vanishingly low chance I will need it.

Once you find and use a really good drywall anchor, this is solid. Good buy and even better used in combo with - Hold Up Displays 90 Degree in Barrel Handgun Multi Mount - I use this combo for a shotgun, Proper Anchors, Its perfect to mount in a hidden quick access place. Perfect together.

Bought this late January 2022, it’s been installed and holding my AR pistol since I received it. The locking mechanism metal is the worst quality metal possible. I noticed the firearm sagging and found out the entire metal plate and locking shaft was bending all over. The locking shaft is also halfway broken away at the base which means my firearm would have fallen and been unsecured if I didn’t catch this. If they didn’t cheap out in the metal quality then this product would have been 5 stars for me.

These things are great if you want to set up displays in your living area or bedroom. I have two displaying a Springfield Model 1893, Mosin Nagant, and my AR. You can either get a slat wall or drill them into the wall as I did. The ring the keys come in is flimsy and it cost me to lose my keys. I called customer service and they were awesome in sending me a new set right away.

For my purpose this item is ok, however I recommend anyone interested look at the lock on the mount, as that itself is designed to mounted and is more secure than the extra step of the plate added

I use this on my motorcycle to store my firearm while at work (No Gun policy at work). I have yet to have any issues with it other than losing my keys for my previous one which still works but I just can't open it.

Worked perfectly for securing inside of my hidden american flag gun case. Used bolts instead of screws to secure through the case and wall

I used this locking device to place a Winchester pellet rifle on the wall of my office. Looks great and safe enough to prevent anyone to take it out. Obviously an extra hook is required to support the front part of the rifle on the wall.
