White Belt Kakuro: 150 Puzzles (Martial Arts Puzzles Series)

I have had a few of these books now. In fact I have had this on same a couple of times as there are plenty of puzzles in so it’s like doing new ones by the time you start again. The white books are the right level for me. A good challenge but not too hard.

White Belt Kakuro: 150 Puzzles (Martial Arts Kakuro) This is the entry level book in this series of Kakuro puzzles, and in many ways it's a good book for beginners. As you would expect it has a well written guide to doing Kakuro, it has a list of common number combinations, and starts with very easy puzzles which gradually get more difficult. However, by the time you get to around puzzle #130 the Kakuro do get pretty difficult indeed. Bearing in mind that there are more than 4 books in this series I feel that the puzzles get too difficult too quickly.Unfortunately there are still very few Kakuro books available so this is going to be one of your only choices - just bear in mind that it will be useful to find other books that teach the skills in a slightly different way, and that some of those other books also offer a much more comprehensive list of number combinations. It will be the experience you gain from other books, combined with the Kakuro in this series, that will enable you to find ways to do the more advanced puzzles.This series is not by any means a comprehensive guide to Kakuro, but it's not a bad place to start.

Alright then, I suppose I'm going to be the fool in the review section... I thought this was rather hard, considering it's white belt!! ...... Lots of puzzles, okay size, okay paper, all in all very good book. Happy with purchase.

Bought this for a gift, having already purchased for my son. It's a good start for those new to Kakuro. The unique combinations at the back really help, although all possible combinations for different totals would be useful too - but they are easily available on the internet to print off and I found that really helped me in the early days before you know them all automatically.

I went for the easiest book in the series and I still struggle to finish any of the puzzles! I'm not stupid - I've played a lot of Kakuro on apps, but this makes me feel like I'm missing something...

This is an excellent book with very clear puzzles to have a go at, as I am not very experienced at these puzzles it is difficult for me to judge how easy they are.
