Bit hard to understand the instructions to set it up initially , I figured it out after sometime. Overall product is good.

I found this trap to be very sturdy, but difficult to use. the problem was that the trigger mechanism is at the far end of the entrance and there was no way to reach it conveniently. It took several days to catch the Raccoon. I was finally able to bait the trigger plate with a cat food can that I positioned using a broom handle. The Raccoon was VERY LEERY of the trap and I had to position a trail of "Baited Cans" outside and into the trap. Of course my cat, Fluff, fell victim to the trap on the second day. HE WAS VERRRRRRY UPSET!!!!!!! That Racoon kept avoiding the trap and I would sprinkle dry cat food all around and inside the trap to attract it into the trap. It would push the trap around and lift it to get to the food without entering the trap. I then positioned landscape bricks around it to keep it from moving. I have video of it literally kicking one of the smaller stones away to get to the food. That's when I placed a can directly on the plate and created a trail of cans to lead it into the trap. It finally worked! The Raccoon was trapped. It was VERRRRRRRRRRY UPSET OVER THIS!!!!! The trap kept him contained. It would stick it's paws through the bars and under the door plate. After it was relocated, I discovered that there was a second Raccoon! This time I cut and access panel into the "roof" of the trap and fixed a can to the trigger plate. I covered it with a laminated wood door (See pictures.) Let's hope this works I did the access door today.

DO NOT BUY THIS TRAP!This trap is weak, flimsy and very poorly made. I have caught two animals since I purchased this trap, a medium sized raccoon, and an adult ground hog. Both animals were in the trap for a very brief period prior to relocation. No relocation for the raccoon, it had no trouble getting out of the trap. They both destroyed the trap. Broke the spot welds on the wire mesh, ripped the handle off, bent the bait pan and the tripping mechanism.The cheap silver paint on it came off in less than a week, and it had started to rust in several places. I should have bought a smaller, more reliable, Havahart trap. I say that because both animals that I caught, could have been caught in a 50% smaller trap, but they still managed to destroy the trap. If I had caught a larger animal in this junk trap, I am absolutely certain it would have escaped just by ripping the trap apart. Don’t waste your time on this trap. Garbage.I contacted the manufacture three times. They never got back to me.I thank Amazon customer relations for righting this wrong, because the only response I got from the manufacturer was notification of $28 restocking fee! Which Amazon took care of. Five stars for Amazon!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Update: Bought a Havahart trap at Home Depot for almost half the price of the trap featured in this review. I’ve caught three coons and 2 groundhogs in it…no problems, no escapes, no damage to Trap.Amazon should offer a larger size Havahart trap online.👍🏻

I didnt really process the size of this trap! I say opossum and went for it for price and animal we need it for. Sheesh! 👍👍 HOWEVER pay attention to the spring for trap release, it was installed backward and didnt work at first. Unsure if that was on our end or manufacturing. SO! If trap wont shut, switch the spring around 👍

Only suitable for trapping mice....would be a tight entry for a chipmunk.

Trapped a Community female cat. Was spayed, given shots, and released.

The build quality on this was ok. I bought it for chipmunks and it's just to small for them . And the holes in the wire are to big for mine they can just squeeze through. So basically it's useless . They should have made it at least 10x5x5 for chipmunks or smaller cage holes so it could be used for mice .

The media could not be loaded.  Just like the other review, this trap is cheap, and I don't mean the price only but also the quality ! After put together this live trap, nothing work, the spring didn't want to return the kick plate, door won't close all the way make it easy for the animal to escape, I spend 2 hours and modify this trap and now is working almost perfectly. It will work, but you do have to make a lot of adjustment! Update, after the first use, the raccoon have totally destroyed this cage. The raccoon have escaped without be caught, the cage is just make out of very weak wire, no way it can hold any animal inside !! Such bad design !!
