Solid book and helpful materials that come with it; don't rely on just the book though
At first, I was a little skeptical on how well this single book would help me in terms of becoming prepared for taking the OAT. I thought, "A single book that covers all the subject that are covered on the OAT? There's no way this is going to be sufficient." All in all, I think this book covered a lot of what was on the actual OAT, especially with what was covered in the Biology section. The other sections modeled what was on the actual test as well, with a few exceptions here and there. I would probably recommend using other study materials to supplement with what is included in the book, just in case there is anything missing. The examples and practice problems helped a lot; I just wish I was given more multiple choice practice problems as opposed to fill in the blank/essay type questions (I guess there's a counter argument that it's recognition vs. knowing, but to each his/her own) In any event and long story short, I went through this book twice, watched youtube videos on anything I was confused on, took the practice tests (including the shortened free one available on the Kaplan website) and in the end I got a 380AA/400TS. But holy hell, the Kaplan practice tests do not model the actual exam very well, except for maybe the reading section and Bio (I recommend the free pdf test available on the ADA site for a better glimpse on what the OAT will be like). They were great practice for taking a timed exam though. I thought I was absolutely screwed, but it ended up being a lot less stressful/difficult than I had anticipated. At the end of the day, I highly recommend this book as a piece to your OAT studying! (or I guess it would be the next edition, but it'll probably be similar)

Better than OAT destroyer
OAT isn't a difficult test. It's mostly breadth and not depth. If you want to do well, you want to cover all the topics. I believe Kaplan sufficiently covers everything you need to know. The rest is up to you to find the appropriate resources to test your own knowledge.Biology from Kaplan is excellent, Chemistry is excellent (though I needed to supplement with Chad's chem videos) which I believe is based partly on Kaplan. Organic Chemistry covers in more depth, but you should supplement with lots of practice from other sources. Physics requires ALOT of practice, and I suggest going to Chad's for appropriate difficulty problems.Reading was very helpful. The OAT is ALOT of reading with very short amount of time. I suggest really paying attention to the strategies. Math was great as well, but your performance is going to be dependent on how alert you are after 4 hrs of testing since Math is last.My stats : Bio 350 Orgo 310 Phys 350 Chem 340 QR 340 Reading 380 AA 350 TS 350Make sure to find sample ADA OAT exam and make sure you know all the topics covered in the practice COLD.

The strategies are good, the rest is okay.
I took my exam today and I got the Academic Average of 320.Overall, this book was... okay. For the $40 I spent on it, I expected it to be a lot better. It has a pretty good outline of everything you need to know and is a good basis for your studying. However, there were some errors, redundancies, and cryptic sentences that just really shouldn't have been here. For the most part, I suspect these were due to some rewording of the previous edition and poor proof-reading.What I couldn't get over was the fact that sometimes entire paragraphs were literally the same sentence paraphrased over and over again. I understand that repetition is important, but when you have literally just said something, I don't need you to repeat again so quickly. Bring it up later.Something else that annoyed me was that when I tried to take the Practice Test for the first time, it just froze on question 40. For no reason. My computer worked, the web browser worked. I closed and re-opened the test to try again, and it would not let me go forward or click any buttons. I suppose I should have let tech support or someone know, but I did not have to time for that. I have a tight schedule between work and studying and I was not gonna waste a day trying to make it work, especially since it already interrupted me and the flow of the test. I did not attempt it again. The most helpful sections were probably the 'Reading Critically' and the 'Quantitative Reasoning' sections. There were also hints throughout the book on what type of questions and information would and would not be on the test, which I also found helpful. I think the quizzes at the end of each section were pretty good as well, but sometimes they barely covered the material in the chapter itself and focused on one specific thing, which I found rather annoying. The strategies they outline in the book were pretty good and helpful, especially the ones for 'Reading Critically.'

A Good Foundation
This book is an excellent overview of everything you need to know for the OAT. It is generally very clear in its explanations and does not get overly detailed where it does not need to be. The diagrams and pictures are excellent at conveying hard to conceptualize ideas, and the practice problems are decent at testing you on the chapters. The key to the questions can be a tad vague, and you will definitely need to buy an additional set of practice problems. You also don't need to buy the most current version of this book, as the material hasn't changed for some years. Overall this book is an excellent start for studying the OAT. However, IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON USING THE KAPLAN ONLINE COURSE YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY THIS BOOK, AS THE COURSE INCLUDES A COPY OF THIS BOOK.

So glad I bought this!
I decided to study for the OAT the old-fashioned way with books only and I'm so glad I did! I supplemented this book with 3 Sterling Test Prep practice problems books (for Gen Chem, Bio, and Org chem). I received good enough OAT scores to get accepted into all of the schools that I applied to (NECO, MCPHS, and UMSL). I took the OAT once and got the following scores: QR 350, RC 360, Bio 330, Gen Chem 330, Org Chem 330, Physics 340, TS 340, AA 340). I HIGHLY recommend this product.

New and improved
Received it brand new. Great all-in-one textbook to review all the courses you've taken in the past. I didn't have this when I wrote the OAT the first time, but got a better score after using this book and re-writing it a second time

Money well spent
This is a fantastic study guide. It contains all of the information you need and the practice tests are very realistic. It was the only material that I used to study and I got a 390 average on the OAT. Definitely worth the money.
