The complex design of this book's interior is captivating, helping to create an ambiance and tell the story in subtle ways. It is much too sophisticated to write off as just a Christian children's book.I've owned and enjoyed the book since it's first Christmas and I am not a Christian nor do I have any children.

Beautiful. I love this author. The last third of the book was a struggle as a read aloud because I kept crying (in the best possible way). Very moving and well written. The paintings are lovely too and have a very Christmassy feel. Such a shame it's out of print!

Perfect Christmas story, explains the true meaning of the holiday season. And the paintings by Thomas KInkade could not ask for more.
