cocoa and chocolate are not the same thing
chocolate is more about texture and usually requires large amounts of fat to make it taste the way in most people like. the flavor and level of sweetness is really good but the texture is like a soft smarty they disolve quickly but not like chocolate as long as you know that they are good. the tin is not best for keeping mosture out and they break somewhat easily if you carry them around with you.

These mints are delicious! They taste like candy!
These mints balance the perfect blend of chocolate and mint. Because they are so delicious, it helps remind me to consume a few mints throughout the day. I have read about the extensive benefits of xylitol and I am so happy that this product makes it easy for me to incorporate it into my meals. I agree with other reviews which have mentioned that the mint is crumbly and dissolves quickly. But for me, this does not compromise the overall quality of the mint. It still tastes yummy and takes care of the most important job which is neutralizing the acids in your mouth.I also ordered the wintermint and peppermint flavors. Cocoa mint is my favorite because it tastes like candy. The wintermint is also delicious and refreshing. Peppermint has a very, very strong flavor. It is good, but it is not something that I would want to consume throughout the day. Xyla brand mints are made in the USA and are made from birch trees, not corn. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a convenient way to "strive for five" servings of xylitol a day.

Where's the cocoa?
Several years ago I ordered these several times and were great tasting and had lots of cocoa in them. About a year ago I ordered these, they were white in color with no cocoa at all - minty crumbly sugar. Obviously a defective batch and I got a refund from Amazon. The mints I am reviewing were just received and have a tiny bit of cocoa and strong mint flavor and taste like crap. Wasted money on these - Lot# 111501. Defective or a change of recipe??? I have had very good results with the Licorice flavor Xyla mints - consistently good over the past few years -

Little to no chocolate or mint taste, instant crumble and dissolve...
I'm not sure if some of the positive reviews are from long enough ago that there was a recipe change since those reviews, but these have very little if any chocolate OR mint taste. It is a very mildly sweet chalky small tablet that starts to instantly dissolve and crumble in your mouth. This "mint" wont last very long at all, so you'll be reaching for more right away... and seeing as the cost of these are so high it's a very expensive treat. You certainly won't be sucking on them for long.If you're using them for medicinal purposes (ie specifically for teeth, dry mouth or because you are diabetic I can possibly see more value in these, but definitely not for the flavor.) For my use, which was to find a low calorie, non sugar replacement for mints I carry in my purse to enjoy a little peppermint flavor and curb chocolate cravings, this did NOT work out for me.Also be aware that there are no returns on grocery items from amazon, so unless you know for sure you will like these I'd pass on the chocolate mint.

Love 'em, but beware if you have dogs!
I love these mints: they help to satisfy my need for sweets and chocolate without destroying my figure or my teeth. Some reviewers complained about the crumbly soft texture but I don't mind it, I actually kind of enjoy it.I was leaving a tin of these in every room of the house until I learned that xylitol I extremely toxic to dogs, so now I keep them hidden away in drawers and cabinets.!!! If you have dogs, make sure you are careful with these mints!!!One star off because the mint flavor is a bit weak, so my breath isn't freshened very long.

good flavor, but crumbly
I bought these to help my afternoon sweet cravings that had gotten out of control. I love chocolate, so I was hopeful. They have a nice, mild chocolate mint flavor, but they are very crumbly. I'd prefer a firmer candy.

Great taste but very broken up!
The taste was very good. Some of the mints were whole, but a lot were broken and the can had a lot of powder from the broken mints. The mints are rather soft, this making it easy for them to break apart. I got six tins of them, but probably won’t purchase again

Yummy!!!
I was hooked on the chocolate covered Altoids for ever and then suddenly, I couldn't find those anywhere. So disappointed...but then a friend got me a box of these. And now I'm happy again!!! These taste great!!! Only problem is right now, I can't find them in Canada. So, I ordered these from Amazon and now I'm good for a while!!!These are very tasty...not too minty, not too chocolatey. They are just right for me!!!
